About this property
Skomer View, Solva - Two Bedroom Apartment, Sleeps 4
The view has to be seen to be believed! Set on the top floor of historic Llanunwas House, Skomer View looks directly over the uninterrupted panorama of St Brides Bay to the islands of Skomer and Skokholm.
Llanunwas is a mansion set in its own historic country landscape; when you leave the winding road at Upper Solva and drive through the woods, you know that you are somewhere special. Surrounding the house are two acres of lawns and gardens with a mix of sunny and shaded areas – ideal for sitting and relaxing, or for children to explore. The lounge is an ideal place to relax and look out over the sea and the islands. It is light and airy in summer and warm and cosy in winter.
Unspoilt North Pembrokeshire is on your doorstep. From the rear courtyard a green lane leads you to the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. Turning left, a stroll along picturesque cliffs brings you to the pretty fishing village of Solva, with its pretty quay, harbourside pubs, friendly shops and cafes. The wide sweep of the surfing bay at Newgale and the sandy family beach of Caerfai are both within ten minutes drive.
Nearby is Britain's smallest city, St Davids, home of the magnificent cathedral, National Park Visitor Centre, speciality shops and restaurants. Surprisingly, in contrast to its tranquillity, St Davids is also the place to start an adventure - book fast boat trips to the islands, coasteer or kayak around the coves or learn to surf at Whitesands Bay.
