About this property

Beautiful converted barn on the North York Moors, overlooking the Steam Railway

The Long Barn at Sadler House Farm is a spacious and welcoming 17th century barn conversion, perfect for families or groups looking for a peaceful break in the heart of the North Yorkshire Moors.

You will be surrounded by beautiful countryside, far away from the bustle of everyday life. Glorious walks from the door take you up onto the moors above the farm or into the delightful village of Goathland, where sheep graze on the green and reminders of 'Heartbeat' surround you. A short drive takes you to the bustling seaside town of Whitby or historic Pickering, where the steam railway to Whitby starts out.

The Barn sleeps up to eight people in four comfortable bedrooms, one downstairs, and features a spacious double-height sitting room with woodburner, exposed timbers and stonework and glass door onto the garden. The open plan kitchen and dining area, also featuring a cosy woodburner, give glorious views across the garden and moorland and overlook the famous North York Moors steam railway.

A large picnic table on the stone terrace is ideal for relaxed lunches, with a large grassed area - and a washing line tucked into a corner!

At night, all is peaceful, with only the sounds of sheep and the tinkling beck to lull you to sleep. The dark skies are perfect for star gazing and, if you are lucky, you might see the Aurora Borealis one night!

There is space beside the barn to park up to 3 cars.

1 or 2 dogs are welcome, downstairs only and not on the furniture, please.
