About this property
The Stables, Cardigan
The Stables at Plas Treforgan is a converted cottage set in the charming and extensive grounds of this beautifully restored Grade II listed Georgian Country House Estate, near Cardigan with its enchanting walled garden and summer house, where tranquillity abounds.
The cottage has been converted from the former Stables of the main house and provides a homely yet superior retreat for families, couples and friends looking for a relaxing break in a wonderfully peaceful location. You can benefit from the modern amenities and the log-burning stove for cosy evenings.
The Stables is less than a 10-minute drive into the market town of Cardigan with its theatre, cinema, supermarkets, pubs and a range of individual shops. The Teifi River and Estuary approach Cardigan Bay, reaching the sea at Poppit Sands, with its large stretch of beach and sand dunes.
The historic county of Ceredigion is favoured by walkers, water sports fans, anglers and wildlife enthusiasts, and with the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, Wildlife Centres and The Dylan Thomas Trail (New Quay), there are endless activities for children and adults to immerse themselves in.
Whatever the weather, Plas Treforgan captures the romantic, inspiring and atmospheric nature of its surroundings, and is very well situated for exploring much more of the areas of outstanding natural beauty in West Wales.
ACCOMMODATION
The Stables sleeps 5 in 3 bedrooms: 2 doubles and 1 single. The accommodation is all on one level and may be suitable for those with restricted mobility.
Bedroom 1: double bed, bedside light, vaulted/open beam ceiling, chest of drawers/dressing table, chairs, wash basin, fine views over countryside, garden and cobbled courtyard
Bedroom 2: double bed, bedside tables, wash basin, fine countryside/garden views
Bedroom 3: single bed, bedside table, wash basin, field and garden views
Bathroom: shower, WC, wash basin, heated towel rail
Sitting room: 3 seater sofa, 2 seater sofa, armchair, Freeview TV, mini Hi Fi, log burner, views over cobbled courtyard
Kitchen/Dining room: electric hob and oven, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, table seating 6
Conservatory: small table and wicker chairs
OUTSIDE
Set in 16 acres of grounds, there is the cobbled courtyard alongside the walled garden, surrounded by lawns, including a sunken/formal lawn to the right of the main house. Beyond the lawns on which a BBQ and small children's play area are situated, there are two large fields, one containing a large pond where children must be supervised. There is a great deal of space to play in but we politely ask you to note that care and supervision is required particularly in the walled garden and that permission for dogs does not extend to inside the walled garden. Beyond the walled garden there is the summer house and additional gardens. Parking for 3 cars on drive. A tumble dryer is available in the 'Fisherman's Shed', for use by guests and which also contains extra fridge/freezer space.
