House of W is a C16th palazzino forming part of the former private residence of Grandmaster Alof de Wignacourt when still Captain of Valletta. Converted in 2022 following meticulous renovation, House of W now offers 5 exquisite apartments, each unique and finished to the highest standards of comfort. The original character and features of the building have been restored to blend with a mix of antique and vintage pieces, art and luxurious furnishings, offering an eclectic yet elegant ensemble.
Garigor occupies the entire top floor of House of W, and is named after the traditional spiral stone staircase which connects the upper levels of the palazzino, a protected architectural element that is synonymous with heritage buildings.
This luxurious 1/2 bedroom apartment enjoys ample light in every room as well as views of the local church dome and Valletta’s rooftops. Designed with an eclectic Mid-century flair, authentic furniture pieces and period light fittings punctuate the spacious apartment. Original terrazzo flooring and walnut woodwork give a warm feel to otherwise neutral tones, while antique Persian carpets, wall hangings and soft furnishings add interesting layers of texture to the elegant space.
The large master bedroom, with Super King sized bed, includes a walk-in wardrobe and en-suite bathroom with shower. The marble-clad bathroom is spacious and includes amenities such as underfloor heating and towel warmer, as well luxurious bathroom products.
The large kitchen with bar counter overlooks the internal courtyard, and includes full size appliances, including a dishwasher. The comfortable lounge and dining area adjoin a small outdoor terrace. A sofa-bed offers an additional double bed if required.
Benefitting from a spacious 72sqm, Garigor offers ideal accommodation for medium to long stays.

Guests have access to the full apartment on an exclusive basis, and the central courtyard as well as the staircase and lift that serves all suites.
Set in one of the oldest streets of Valletta the property boasts original stone carvings and features dating back to 1572. Valletta is a UNESCO World Heritage City that is packed with historical buildings and 450 years of History from the Knights of St John who built the city as a stronghold to defend the island. Enjoy the stunning bastions that surround the city, St. Johns Co-Cathedral, The Manoel Theatre (the oldest functioning theatre in Europe) Natural History Museum, the Grand Masters palace and with over 600 restaurants, bars cafes and eateries you are spoilt for choice.
Valletta is a very small city and is easily accessible on foot. We do not recommend a car if you stay here as all areas are within easy reach. The Main public bus terminus that serves the whole island is just 500 meters away and with Bolt and Uber available 24/7 you can access the whole island with relative ease
- Guests are welcomed personally for check-in.
- Early/late check-in and check-out may be available upon request.
- Depending on availability, the entire building can be booked by one group.
- All suites are served by elevator as well as by the main staircase, however duplex suites have internal stairs to access the upper level.
- Due to the historic nature of the property one may experience low ceilings or uneven stairs, in some public areas of the building. These features were retained in order to protect the original integrity of the building, and whilst every safety precaution has been taken, we do not recommend this building as being suitable for children.
