About this property
Jenny Wren Cottage, Middleham, Yorkshire Dales
Situated in a quiet lane near Middleham town centre, Jenny Wren Cottage is a charming one bedroom traditional stone cottage, perfectly placed for visiting the town’s very own castle, eateries or shops and never too far away from other neighbouring dales towns such as Masham and Leyburn.
Built in the early 1800’s, Jenny Wren retains original features whilst creating a romantic getaway for two as a destination to switch off, leave the car behind and explore Wensleydale throughout the whole year. The cottage has been fully modernised, complete with Yorkshire stone fireplace, wood-burning stove, exposed stone work and oak beams.
Greeting you on arrival is the tastefully decorated sitting room from which a step leads through to the country-style dining kitchen, followed by the rear entrance which opens out onto the patio area nestled within the cottage walls and perfect for morning coffee or al-fresco dining. Tucked away on the first floor is the pretty king-size master bedroom overlooking the front of the cottage, accompanied by the shower room, all you need for a fabulous night’s sleep.
The cottage is a short walk from the historic market town centre, well known for being a giant in the world of horse racing with in excess of 10 professional stables and trainers who all make use of the gallops as you head out through the town towards Coverdale.
