About this property

1 bedroom Bolthole Jollyboat Cottage,High St,50m to Quay.FAB!!!

(Please contact me before you book, this is the first of my 3 flint cottages I have on Vrbo in central Blakeney Pimpernel & 21a) Jollyboat cottage is Situated in the heart of Blakeneys’ High Street, set back 30 metres from the road. Near the restaurant, pub, bakery, gift shop, gallery and coffee/tea room JollyBoat is a perfect romantic retreat for a couple, I also get many lone travellers and repeat guests .2 magpies bakery and coffee shop is just 50 metres away on the quayside. Fabulous breakfast /lunch in there. Fresh bread to take away and the biggest piles of croissants and all things lovely on their counter ! Such choice. The White Horse ‘gastropub’ and The Moorings restaurant are also on the high street ,not forgetting The Kings Arms on Westgate Street .Birdies on the quay do a mean burger - my fav, Spar shop sells everything you’ll need and has a post office and cash machine .
This cottage is a lovely base to get away from it all for a well-deserved break! We allow 1small/medium size well behaved dog . My sofa will need completely covering please. There is a Pet gate on stairs as NO DOGS UPSTAIRS and no dogs left unaccompanied, sorry. Clean dog before entering the cottage .(A medium sized Crate is provided.)I will always ask if you’re bringing a dog .
The downstairs area at JollyBoat offers a double height, open-plan kitchen and living space. The kitchen is a good size, with a peninsular providing a dining area and additional storage. There is a Neff induction hob & Neff hide & slide electric oven, slimline dishwasher and small undercounter fridge with separate ice box.The sitting room has a comfortable sofa, with a 40″ Smart TV, a DVD player and electric woodburner. I provide a selection of books.Wooden stairs lead to the first floor and the master en-suite bedroom.Sloping ceilings upstairs in both the bedroom and shower cubicle.
The bedroom offers comfortable sleeping accommodation, with a double divan bed and drawers/hanging. Travel cot in bedroom & towel airer .
The glass arched doorway leads to the en-suite shower room with walk in shower, W.C. and basin. Please note that the shower has a sloping ceiling above, which taller guests may find restrictive.
JollyBoat has space for two chairs on the yard, perfect for sitting in the evening sunshine enjoying a glass of wine after a day of exploring all that North Norfolk has to offer. Pay Carpark is 40 metres away on high street or parking at the village hall just a 5 min walk via little lane, to Jollyboat. You get 30 min free on the carpark for unloading if you wish. Please never block the yard to load and unload. Many local people share the yard .

Charming cottage in a charming village
We loved our stay here. The cottage is clean and comfortable, excellent location and Sophia was accessible and responsive before and during our stay. Great kitchen. Blakeney is a small village but many great restaurants and many walking paths nearby. A very restful and peaceful place.

Lovely getaway
The cottage was situated in an ideal location, just a short walk down the high street to the quay. There is pub/inn just a couple of hundred yards down the road and a nice bakery on the quay. The cottage was well kitted out and we had everything we needed.

Relaxing stay
We loved staying at Jollyboat Cottage with our dog. It is in a lovely area and just a short stroll to the pub, restaurant's and the harbour. We enjoyed a lovely long weekend and it is easy to get to the fabulous beach at Wells which is a short drive away. The cottage has been really nicely decorated and everything has been thought of. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Jollyboat Stay
Jollyboat is a beautifully restored cottage, tastefully decorated and extremely well equipped. The location was perfect and it provided a good base for walking the Norfolk Coast Path and catching the Coasthopper bus. We met Sophia, our helpful and hardworking host who was a source of local knowledge. The lack of outdoor space was made up for by its location 100 metres or so from picturesque Blakeney Quay.

Pretty but Cramped Cottage
A pretty & nicely furnished cottage but in kitchen area, surfaces were cluttered & cupboards full, leaving no space for guest provisions. Bread board needs replacing! Hated the dog crate in the living room & other dog-based stuff, along with the recycling bin. Upstairs was far too cramped for us, especially washing & showering, with a dangerous step (which we fell over). Nowhere for towels & no wardrobe in the glass-fronted bedroom. Drawer liners recommended, please, along with filled soap-dispensers. And please instruct how to turn on TV! Parking was a pain.

Please contact me before you actually book Jollyboat
.We are a local family and go back as far as records show in this area. We have owned the cottage since the mid 80s. It was formerly a gig house , never accomodation. Only for a cart and pony. I clean the cottage myself and expect my guests to respect my little cottage. Thankyou 😊

Why they chose this property

We grew up here spending our summer holidays on the quay crabbing, cockling and winkling with all my cousins and taking an active part in the fetes and village activities that my nanny and aunts/ uncles were involved with. I still have many relations that are dotted about the village ! The regatta is something to behold in the summer .Greasy pole and athletics on the play area. We get a fair in August and fireworks in nov. This quaint coastal village is renowned for its seal trips out to Blakeney point and the gillie crabs along the quayside wall. Not far from Sandringham and Holt , Sheringham and the coastal path goes all along the coast for miles and miles.
There are fantastic tennis courts in Blakeney at the village hall. Free parking there too. Just 5 min walk away from my cottage via little lane.
Harbour rooms is a lovely place to hang out. They have live bands on. Sometimes a famous face too !

What makes this property unique

Central location but set back from the high street, Jollyboat is a charming Bolthole for 2 and everyone that stays loves it. 40 metres away is the carpark and 50 metres away is the harbour . Delicatessen is 2 doors away !
What’s not to love ! Find Blakeney deli and you’ve found Jollyboat !
Folks coffee on Westgate st is theeeeee best coffee in the village too.
