Our house is in the heart of trendy Shoreditch, in London's East End.
The neighbourhood is well known for its vibrant nightlife, its cultural diversity, and being home to many people in London's creative scene.
ATTRACTIONS
Right next door is the Columbia Road Flower Market, that runs every Sunday. It is a beautiful and lively event that attracts many people from all over London each week.
A five minute walk away is Brick Lane, famous for its dozens of Bangladeshi restaurants, and more recently for design and furniture and food markets on the weekends.
Spitalfields Market is also just a ten minute walk away. There you can see a host of creative vendors selling everything from handmade scarves to children's toys and vintage clothing.
Shoreditch bars and clubs are just around the corner, whether you like the posh atmosphere of member's only Shoreditch House, or late night clubbing at Mother Bar, or some of the trendier hipster watering holes on Broadway Market.
Food
Our neighbourhood has become a bit of a gourmet haven in recent years, and you can find excellent gourmet British dining at Brawn next door, or wonderful Bombay-café-style Indian food at Dishoom just down by Shoreditch High Street. Hoxton Square has Red Dog Saloon (famous for its wings and burgers), and Kingsland Road is the Vietnamese food centre of London (grab a Pho on the go).
ART
The Geffrye Museum of the Home is one of London's hidden gems. Walk down the block to see how Britain's homes and furniture designs changed from the times of Elizabeth the 1st to 21st Century London.
The White Cube Gallery on Hoxton Square is one of London's preeminent art spots. Stop by after lunch on the square or a bowl of soup at one of the Vietnamese restaurants on Kingsland road, and take in some contemporary art.
The Whitechapel Gallery is just down the end of Brick Lane, and has fantastic exhibitions as well.
Or, just walk around and sample East London's famous street art, by Banksy and many others.
Hoxton Overground Station is a five minute walk away. From there you can go directly to Highbury and Islington, or down to Whitechapel, Wapping, Crystal Palace, or Clapham Junction.
Liverpool Street Station is just five minutes away on the bus, or 15 minutes walking. From there you have trains to all of Britain, as well as an express train to Stansted Airport, and the Central, Circle, District, and Hammersmith and City Line Tubes.
From Hackney Road you can take the 55 bus straight to Oxford Street, the 26 bus to Waterloo Station, or the 48 bus to London Bridge.
We kindly request that you read the house rules prior to booking and respect them during your stay. Parties or events of any kind will not be tolerated. Violation of this rule will result in eviction from the property and charges for any damages or additional cleaning required. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
