A short walk will bring you to a popular Thai restaurant and you can also head into the thriving village of Pocklington which is known as the gateway to the Wolds. Here you will find a local pub as well as a couple of supermarkets, with a market every Tuesday. Directly opposite is a bus stop which will take you into York or over to the coast. Running seven days a week it’s a great option should you wish to leave the driving to someone else! In less than a 30-minute drive, you will locate the walled city of York. Whilst here, you can visit the Gothic-style cathedral, step inside the time capsule of the Jorvik Viking Centre, or enjoy the vast array of shops, restaurants and pubs within the city.
Nearby, for children, you have York Maze, Piglets Farm as well as Flamingo Land theme park and zoo. There are some wonderful walking trails nearby making this a great destination for hikers as well as dog lovers. Take time to explore the stunning Yorkshire Wolds or head into the Howardian Hills and visit Castle Howard, home to both Brideshead Revisited and more recently Bridgerton.
