About this property
Slate Cottage, Holiday Cottage St Davids, Sleeps 4, 2 bedrooms, bathrooms
Slate Cottage is a charming semi-detached holiday home in a small new development on the outskirts of the popular tiny city of St Davids. Tucked away at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, it is only a short walk via a footpath to the heart of this tiny City and all its excellent facilities; the glorious Whitesands Beach is also handy. With a modern fitted kitchen/diner, the south facing sitting room has a super large L-shaped sofa to relax on and French doors open to the sunny rear enclosed garden with lawn and paved terrace, perfect for dining alfresco on a summer’s evening. Stairs lead up to the 2 light bedrooms and bathroom on the first floor. There is a good range of shops, pubs, galleries and restaurants to try all within a short walk in St Davids. Take the time to explore the magnificent Cathedral and the ruins of the Bishops Palace. There are a choice of beaches nearby including Caerfai Bay and the beautiful Whitesands Beach popular with families and surfers both professional and beginners, there is even a seasonal beachside cafe to enjoy. The best way to explore this stunning coastline is via the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, taking in its rugged cliffs, hidden coves and breathtaking views, you can always catch the Puffin Shuttle for the return journey. To the north lies Abereiddy and the Blue Lagoon famous for hosting the Red Bull Cliff Diving Championships, Porthgain and the fishing village of Abercastle, while to the east is the beautiful inlet of Solva and the magnificent Newgale Beach. The birdlife and wildlife, as well as flora and fauna will fascinate you. A highlight of any holiday has to be a boat trip round or to Ramsey Island, an RSPB nature reserve, a special place particularly in September to see the seal pups on the beaches. While keen golfers can take advantage of St Davids Golf Course, nearby the sea views from the greens are unrivalled. A super holiday cottage for a family or couple to enjoy a relaxing break whatever the season.
