Ivy Cottage is a charming 180 year old property with a modern twist. This deceptively spacious cottage has been refurbished to a high standard, blending historic charm with contemporary comfort. With accommodation for eight guests, this cottage is ideal for families or groups looking for a relaxing retreat. Situated in the heart of Christchurch, guests can explore many popular nearby attractions, including the historic Christchurch Priory, scenic Mudeford Quay and the picturesque Avon Beach.

The space

Utility room/mud room
As you enter from the gravel driveway, you'll find yourself in the utility room/mud room. This space features a tiled floor, ample room for hanging coats and taking off shoes, and dark cottage cabinets with wooden worktops. The integrated washing machine and tumble dryer make laundry a breeze, while the Belfast sink and open shelving add a touch of rustic charm.

Ground floor bedroom
The ground floor bedroom is a cosy and comfortable space, perfect for guests who prefer to avoid stairs or for those who appreciate a bit of extra privacy. The room features a comfortable double bed, a tiled floor and a window that allows natural light to flood the room. A bedside table and rail for hanging clothes provide convenience and functionality.

Kitchen
The heart of the home, the open plan kitchen/diner is spacious and flooded with natural light. The tiled floor with underfloor heating, farmhouse solid wood dining table and dove grey shaker style cabinets create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a Belfast sink with instant boiling water tap, integrated fridge, freezer, dishwasher and a five-ring gas hob with an electric oven. Enjoy cooking meals with the family while taking in the picturesque views of the garden through the floor-to-ceiling glass bi-fold doors.

Garden
Step outside to the fully enclosed mature garden, where you'll find a border with trees and shrubs, a multi-level layout and a quaint cottage herb garden. The patio area is perfect for al fresco dining and the outside tap with both hot and cold water is ideal for paddling pools in the summer. Many of our guests enjoy watching the local wildlife, including birds and squirrels.

Living room
The living room is divided into two areas, each with its own unique charm. The first area has a cosy library feel with a two seater leather sofa, glass coffee table and a bookshelf stuffed with books. There are some children’s toys our younger guests are welcome to enjoy.

The second area features a large three seater grey fabric sofa, armchair and a 42” Smart TV which guests are welcome to use to sign in to their preferred streaming platform. The log burner is available for guest use, however please be aware that logs are not provided.

Master bedroom
The master bedroom, located on the first floor, is a spacious and luxurious retreat. The neutral palette, painted wooden floorboards and rattan headboard create a serene atmosphere. The room features a comfortable double bed, two rattan bedside tables with lamps and a mirrored double wardrobe, providing ample storage space for your belongings. The windows with floor-length curtains and blinds allow natural light to flood the room while providing privacy.

First floor bedrooms 2 and 3
These bedrooms offer comfortable and inviting spaces for guests to relax and unwind. Both bedrooms feature a neutral palette, wooden painted floorboards, and ample natural light. Bedroom 2 is furnished with a wooden king-size bed, two bedside tables, a chest of drawers and a large wardrobe. Bedroom 3 offers a wooden double bed, a bedside table, a large chest of drawers and a chesterfield fabric chair. The two rooms are thoughtfully decorated and provide a peaceful retreat for a good night's sleep.

Family bathroom
The family bathroom, located on the first floor, is a stunning space designed to provide a spa-like experience. The pearlescent tiles that adorn the walls and floor create a sense of luxury, while the built-in bath with an overhead rainfall shower invites you to relax and unwind.

The circular stone sink with a wooden unit beneath adds a touch of natural elegance and the circular illuminated anti-fog mirror is both functional and stylish. The window with privacy glass and a blind allows natural light to flood the room while maintaining your privacy.

Whether you're getting ready for a day at the beach at Mudeford Quay or winding down after a day out in the New Forest, the family bathroom is the perfect place to pamper yourself. We will provide towels and mini toiletries for use during your stay.
