About this property

Hidden Haven, by Veeve

A leafy, expansive garden; a bookcase with a hidden door; three separate, gorgeous living areas… these are just some of the standouts of this impeccably appointed four-bedroom home in Dartmouth Park. Tasteful and modern, spacious and homely, this house is a true gem in North London.

Walk into this home and be greeted with a lasting first impression: the main living area, comprising both a formal living room and a lounge. The large bay window allows direct sunlight to flood a large sofa and three armchairs in the living room, all differing vibrant colours. Vivid art hangs from the walls, adding to the colourful kaleidoscope. The less formal lounge lies beyond, with a cosy leather sofa facing a TV, a piano and an L-shaped bookcase… that may not be what meets the eye. A hidden door hides within, and beyond that…

Lies the kitchen. Another very spacious area, this room features a large island and ample counter space, finished in matte off-white cabinetry and featuring all the bells and whistles you could possibly ask for. The open-plan space also includes the formal dining table, a beautiful timber piece surrounded by odd-coloured, mismatched chairs that brightens and enlivens the room. Another small living area lies just beyond, illuminated by a gigantic window looking out to the equally huge garden.

Featuring a paved area with outdoor seating and a barbecue, as well as an expansive grassy area with impeccable landscaping, this garden is a perfect place to enjoy a cocktail or play with the kids.

Move upstairs and come to the first bedroom, featuring two single beds and an exercise machine. Next door is the primary bathroom, featuring a bath with overhead shower, a toilet and a wash basin. Then come to the principal bedroom: magnificently lit by the south-facing bay windows, here you’ll find a king-sized bed, a brace of armchairs and some quaint antique décor. The en-suite bathroom is well appointed, with shower, toilet and wash basin. Ascend one more flight of stairs and find two more king-sized bedrooms, sharing another bathroom with a shower, toilet and wash basin.

We Love
The fabulous open-plan kitchen and dining area: exquisitely illuminated by big windows and skylights, expansive and modern, once you’re in you won’t want to leave.

Home Truths:
No smoking, pets or parties. A friendly dog usually lives here. Though the dog will not be present during your stay, and the home is cleaned to an extremely high standard, the property may not be suitable for those with allergies. Pets are welcome on request. Although we always endeavour for accuracy, there may be rare occasions where the listing photography and description do not provide an exact representation of the home’s amenities.

At Veeve, we've been committed to hand-selecting the very best homes in London and Paris since 2011. Our mission? To provide our guests with the ideal space to suit their needs; be it a family home in Kensington, a chic penthouse in Shoreditch, or a quirky loft in the Marais...
Our homes may vary in size, style and location, but the experience we offer - seamless and curated - always stays the same. Whichever home you choose, our team of experts are bursting with insider knowledge on the local area. We love to make recommendations, so why not give us a call?

Why they chose this property

This area is full of lovely Victorian houses with tree lined streets and pretty gardens. It has easy transport link to centre of London but has a wonderfully village-like feel.

Tufnell Park is walking distance to the East side of Hampstead Heath a huge oasis of beautiful green parkland with playgrounds, tennis courts , a cafe and great runs and walks. In the centre is the Georgian jewel Kenwood house, famous for its appearance in the film ""Notting Hill”. It houses an incredible collection of pictures including a portrait of Rembrandt and the famous The Musician by Vermeer. The Cafe/ Restaurant in the grounds are also well worth a visit.

Fortess Road that runs from Tufnell Park Station is a great local shopping street full of independent shops including a fantastic butcher, fishmonger, greengrocer, and ice cream parlour, as well as Bear and Wolf — a fabulously child-friendly cafe. The nearby High Street in Kentish Town is good for all your home shopping needs and Camden is only a short bus ride away, with its famous market and eclectic range of shops. And speaking of shops, there's a superb bakery called Bread by Bike selling some of London’s best sourdough, with its own cafe next door. Or, for a taste of Italy, wander over the road to Salvino’s — a delectable deli that's reached local legend status.

The neighbourhood is renowned for its bars and restaurants. The award-winning gastro pub the Junction Tavern is a short walk away. Standout spots for a local pint also include the Lord Palmerston with its inviting garden and the cosy classic, the Pineapple. Soho House's Pizza East is also a great place for family dining.

The area also boasts the Music Venue The FORUM on Highgate Road and there is also good leisure centre and an indoor pool in Kentish Town.
