Enjoy superb walks on the Brendon Hills and the Coleridge Way which stretches between the Quantock Hills AONB and Exmoor. This footpath is littered with spectacular scenery all around, Dunkery Beacon (8.5 miles) is Exmoor’s highest point at 519 meters. Historians and families will enjoy a day trip to the quintessential medieval village of Dunster (6 miles) where you can enjoy a plethora of historic attractions such as the Lovers Bridge, Pottery Kiln, the Working Water Mill and the iconic Dunster Castle where you can witness the dramatic vistas and subtropical gardens. The inviting harbour towns of Watchet (8 miles) and Porlock (13 miles) offers a good selection of shops and eateries to peruse before heading to the Esplanade and Marina to watch all the boating and fishing activities.
Step through the front door and feel right at home in this sympathetically restored cottage which tastefully shows off some of its character features such as exposed beams, stone walls, and an inglenook fireplace. Sit back and cosy up in front of the fire after a full day of explorations with your favourite film or TV programme in the stylish living room. More calmer days can be enjoyed reading your favourite book sat in the window seat gazing out onto the garden or sat planning your next adventure. Mealtimes will feel wholesome and memorable sat together at the farmhouse dining table in this wonderfully bright and airy dining room with large bay windows inviting the outside in. A convenient boot room and WC are located on the ground floor accessed by a stable door, ideal for hanging up those coats and drying off wet paws. A spacious pantry leads through to an elegant well-equipped kitchen where even the most novice of chefs will delight in cooking up some tasty treats. When it’s time to retire for the evening, head upstairs where you will find a sumptuous, master bedroom with a king-size bed, dresser, a built-in wardrobe, and a delightful dual-aspect twin bedroom overlooking the river. The soothing décor of these bedrooms with shutter blinds almost guarantees a good night’s sleep. Last but by no means least is the exquisite bathroom complete with shower, WC, hand basin and freestanding clawfoot bath which is conveniently situated beneath the large window, perfect for embracing the natural sounds of the birds and rivers whilst soothing those aching muscles.
Outside, the cottage is surrounded by a characteristic country garden which offers an array of colours, textures and scents throughout the year. Sounds of the tinkling river can be enjoyed while you eat alfresco in the rear garden or cool yourself down on a hot summer day by dipping your toes in.
