Base for travelling around Pompei/Sorrento/Capri
There can be few hotels or apartments with the incredible view that this property has. You can see a stunning sunset with Vesuvius rising behind the sea, and a The location is peaceful and well away from a busy city. The apartment itself has been very recently refurbished and is comfortable and well equipped. Emiliano and Veronica were extremely helpful throughout. Whenever there was an issue they were very responsive and resolved it quickly with a smile.
Castellamare has excellent train and ferry connections.
Be aware, however, the apartment is located on a hillside that has an extremely narrow road. Whilst finding taxis in Castellamare is difficult in general, no taxi will drive up to the apartment, and it would be brave to hire even the smallest car. Hiring a scooter could be an option. Emiliano did offer to take us into town for the train/ferry and bring us back at the end of each day for a daily fee, which we were reliant on. It is therefore not possible to pop out to the supermarket, get takeaway/food deliveries, except for delivery by Emiliano’s restaurant who will deliver for a charge.
All in all an excellent apartment with amazing views, great service, but with the challenge of getting to and from there.
