About this property
Grange Cottage - a beautiful house sleeping 4 guests in 3 bedrooms
Grange Cottage is a cosy, 18th century Cotswold stone weaver's cottage. Situated in the hills of the small village of Amberley, Grange Cottage enjoys outstanding views of the Cotswolds whilst still benefitting from the local amenities.
Inside this charming property, you are spoilt for choice of rooms to relax and unwind. Enter into the delightful garden room with its impressive, large bay window framing uninterrupted views across the valley to the award winning Woodchester Valley Vineyard. Wander through to the cosy sitting room, brimming with character from the exposed beams, delightful window seat and feature Cotswold stone fireplace with a warming wood burning stove for those cooler evenings. The sitting room leads onto the snug, a light and airy room with a couple of armchairs, a small writing desk and family board games for rainy days in. French doors lead from the snug into the garden. The homely, farmhouse style dining kitchen is reached via a few steps up from the sitting room and includes an electric range oven and gas hob, plenty of other useful appliances; along with a dining table and chairs. There is also a useful utility room housing a freezer, washer/dryer and access to a ground floor WC.
Upstairs on the first floor you will find bedroom one, with lofty high ceilings and oak beams, a king-size bed and lovely woodland views. The family bathroom; bedroom two with a small double (4ft) bed; and the day room with a 2'6 single day bed are also located on the first floor, both these bedrooms feature charming window seats for enjoying the views. Bedroom three is located on the second floor and accessed via steep spiral stairs. This room enjoys more lofty high ceilings, exposed beams, a double bed, and a television. The views from up here are splendid!
Outside, the spacious cottage garden is well stocked with mature shrubs and trees, a lovely lawned area, along with a small terrace with garden furniture for summer barbecues, morning coffee or an evening's glass of wine enjoying the sunset.
The Village of Amberley is located on the National Trust common land of Minchinhampton Common and boasts not one, but two well regarded traditional pubs, both offering traditional ales; The Black Horse Inn and The Amberley Inn, as well as a village shop and café.
