Fabulous villa with amazing sea views
Absolutely stunning villa, over looking the beautiful Scottish Islands. We had a wonderful welcome of champagne, chocolates, and fresh vases of flowers were in every room! Beautifully decorated to a really high standard, and every room had incredible sea views. We loved the BBQ hut and hot tub.

We were truly spoiled by our host during our incredible week at this gorgeous property
It's hard to say enough about how terrific this property is and I don't normally rave about places we stay in, despite having used many VRBO rentals around the world. This property is incredibly well appointed with beautiful luxury furnishings and so much attention to detail across the board, from the comfy and stylish beds and couches to a huge stock of wine glasses, seafood accoutrements, spices and kitchenware etc. They also went above and beyond the norm in terms of what consumables they provide guests, with a huge selection of coffees and teas including 5 types of nespresso in quantities to meet our whole groups needs for the week. We were told to help ourselves to beer and wine of which there was a nice selection on hand. Other extra treats included amaretti and chocolate-ginger biscuits, smoked salmon and gourmet crackers and the list goes on. I've never been so spoiled by a host before. The location is absolutely stunning with jaw-dropping views of the Slate Islands and the harbour down below. The hot tub worked beautifully and clearly is meticulously cared for and was cleaned/ph-balanced in advance of our arrival. Paul was gracious and helpful and advised on activities, even inquiring as to availability of boating charters on our behalf. He was also super responsive in bringing us a new propane tank for the fire table after we inadvertently used it up in our first full day. (Just so lovely to sit by that fire with that view and glass of Prosecco - hours can go by in no time at all!) Thanks again, Paul. Highly recommended.

Perfect place perfect location.
Had everything you could possibly want for a holiday house on the west coast of Scotland. Perfect for every season. The owner has thought of everything, from the generous welcome basket to comfortable bedrooms, WiFi music systems, TVs, BBQs, hot tub, verandah furniture and equipment to enjoy the truly magnificent views. In addition, the owner was instantly contactable to answer every query and question about the property, equipment or the area.

Perfect house for relaxation
Couldn’t have asked for a better place to relax. The property is spotlessly clean and prepared to a very high standard. Paul & Zee left a generous welcome pack as well as lots of other thoughtful touches which were greatly appreciated. The view from the back of the house was stunningly beautiful, viewed either from the hot tub/decking or (when it poured!) from the 1st floor living room with floor to ceiling windows & a sofa you can sink into. The loch is a 10 minute walk away - lots of opportunity for walking, enjoying the wildlife & loch.

A perfect holiday retreat.
We returned this year for our secind visit to Scone Cottage, and it was even better than we remembered. Paul and Zee are meticulous about way they present their lovely home. We were greeted by lovely flowers, gorgeous room scents and an absolutely fantastic welcome pack. The accommodation was perfect for our grown up children, their partners and ourselves. There is somewhere for everyone to enjoy the stunning views and just relax. We were blessed with the most incredibly good weather and were able to take full advantage of the veranda and its hot tub. We enjoyed watching the many birds that visited the feeding station and the red squirrels that performed acrobatics in the trees around us. It is the perfect place to unwind. We had many memorable days out including a Seafari boat trip to Iona and Staffa, a trip to Oban and a day spent at Skipness beach with its stunning views of Arran and amazing sea food shack. We also walked to Craignish Point and investigated Carnasserie Castle. For eating out we can highly recommend Lucy's at Ardfern (visited several times), the Loch Melfort Hotel at Arduaine (with stunning views towards Craobh Haven) and of course The Lord of the Isles. Without a doubt Scone Cottage is our gold standard in holiday accommodation. No other property that we have stayed in comes even close. Although there are many places we would like to visit, we think we will keep coming back to Scone Cottage.

Idyllic, Tranquil and Perfect to Recharge!
From initial booking through to check out Paul was an incredible host, and our stay was perfect. The pictures do not do this house justice. The layout is fantastic and the views breath taking. We stayed as a family of 3, but even with large groups this house would have plenty of space. The house is exceptionally well maintained. I’m a contractor by trade and the level of finish is as good as it gets. My wife and I operate several short-term rental properties so know exactly what it takes to make a stay perfect. Everything Paul & Zee have done to set this house up is first class. The kitchen has everything you’ll ever need, blue tooth speakers built into the ceilings, blankets for the sofas and so much more. Everything is of the highest quality; no expense has been spared. The house was (unexpectedly) stocked with some great beers and a selection of wine – all for our consumption. A beautiful welcome basket upon arrival with great snacks (champagne, smoked salmon, truffles, and the works). I enjoyed cooking for my family and took pleasure from being able to compost our vegetable scraps etc in the composter on the side of the house and indeed feed the birds on the bird table. My wife enjoyed relaxing on the outdoor furniture, or on the huge sofa on the second floor overlooking the breathtaking views. We all loved the Hot Tub! The Wifi was excellent. My wife and I could work early in the morning efficiently so we could then enjoy the rest of the day. We only used the BBQ cabin on our last night, something I now very much regret. We didn’t cook in the cabin but instead just listened to music (again Bluetooth speaker provided) and played cards alongside the fire. We arranged a boat charter with Jenny Wren Charter. Barry the owner lives a couple of doors down from Scone Cottage and spent 2 hours taking us around the Loch and showing us lots of great sights (Sea Eagles, Seals etc). It turns our Barry proposed to his wife in Turks & Caicos Islands in the Caribbean, where we live! Small world. This reinforced our love for Scone Cottage – it was obviously meant to be. We visited Oban, Inveraray and even got to fly some Birds of Prey in Kintail. Expect to do a lot of driving to get anywhere in this area – nothing is that close. The roads however are really maintained, and a pleasure to drive on. We made some wonderful family memories at Scone Cottage, and are grateful for the opportunity to have been able to enjoy Paul and Zees home.

Even Better Than Expected!
This is the second time we have stayed at Scone Cottage. The first time was awesome and this time it was even better (in spite of the weather!) Paul has continued to make improvements to what is a fantastic cottage including a new bathroom and a BBQ hut which was great fun. The welcome was fantastic and we are looking forward to coming again. Thanks Paul.

Exceptional property in an outstanding location with a fabulous host. Exceeded all our expectations!
Before arriving we knew this would be a special property, however it was even more stunning than expected. The location is beautiful, with incredible views and a lovely garden - we even saw a red squirrel. The house is exceptionally well equipped and furnished, was spotless with many thoughtful touches to make our stay feel even more luxurious. Paul was communicative, helpful and welcoming, leaving us an amazing welcome pack to help us settle in. We were lucky with the weather and managed to explore the area - there are some fantastic walks and scenery to appreciate within a short distance. Highly recommend Craignish Cruises, Lord of the Isles and Lucy’s cafe - you do need to book in advance!

Stunning
Even though the weather was wild we had a brilliant break in this wonderfully well appointed house. The house was so comfortable and well appointed. We even used the fantastic, large jacuzzi during a snow storm whilst watch the wild seas drive through the Sound. Had a great evening around the fire in the fantastic BBQ hut at the bottom of the garden. We'll be back for a summer break sometime soon.

The perfect 5* getaway
When booking a property for holidays you never know exactly what's ahead....but I can say hand on heart you will not be disappointed with this propaerty! It's even better in reality than shown in the pics. Not so much of a cottage - it's a large Scandinavian-style dwelling offering 5* accommodation!! There's nothing to fault. Location spectacular - stunning veiws of sea lochs and several local islands - spotlessly clean, well equipped with high level furniture, bedding, utensils, toiletries and gadgets throughout. The hot tub is massive and strategically placed to show breathtaking veiws of the Argyll coastline. Don't forget to explore the cottage's garden - it's a plethora of perfectly place plants and bolders. The owners Paul and Gee were always available via mobile texting before, during and after our stay, keen to make sure we got that 5* service we sought. Paul even suggested I placed a click and collect order with Tesco which he would collect for me! Now that's something not normally offered by property owners!! When you stay here you must explore the shoreline walks and the pub which is only 5 mins walk away. The food was very tasty ( in-house and takeaway), the veiws of the small marina very picturesque and the staff were a very friendly attentive bunch. There is much more to explore in the surrounding area but we chose to stay very local due to the current government guidance on COVID 19. I can't thank Paul and Gee enough for the top notch service they provided myself and my two teenage children. On arrival we were greeted with a wonderful food hamper full of special treats for us all. That was an extremely nice touch so thanks again for wonderful collection of goodies. We aim to return for sure. I suggest if you are reading this reveiw you pay a visit to Scone Cottage too. You will not be disappointed!!

When COVID-19 meant a cancelled trip to Turkey, we, like many others, rushed to find somewhere we could have a break after months of working from home and staring at the same 4 walls. We hadn’t expected to find this little slice of heaven. The views from the balcony and veranda are idyllic; straight out over the water and a perfect spot to see bats, birds of prey and the occasional heron. The TV room is a wonderful place to relax - all mod cons and channels included (the kids - 8 and 10 - were very happy!). The children would like me to mention the jacuzzi bath, hot tub, colour-changing mirror(!), huge bedroom, balcony view and proximity to the water and wildlife where they found a jellyfish and are adamant they saw a penguin!! Trips on the Jenny Wren boat (seals, porpoises, sea eagles and red deer all spotted), walking in the local area and visiting Inveraray (a lovely little town with gift shops and a castle and prison to look round) all made our stay a joy. Paul and Zee were in contact from the moment of booking and couldn’t have done more to help with any questions we had. From the lovely welcome basket of fresh and local foods, to the luxury toiletries and quality of all fixtures and fittings - we felt thoroughly spoilt in this cottage. We wanted a family break that included rest, relaxation and enough to keep the family entertained and we found it here. Cannot recommend enough - just wonderful and worth every penny.

The most fabulous house and host
I stayed here for a week with the family. The house is furnished to a true lay luxurious standard with a beautiful garden and fabulous view including a sun set over the sea. Midges are non existent because of a high tech midge catching machine in the garden too which is a real bonus for using the beautiful outdoor space. The house is in a lovely peaceful location with a choice of pubs and eatery not too far away, one is 10 minute walk. From the time of booking the host are exceedingly helpful and detailed communication To assist with arrival and departure. Thank you for a perfect holiday.

Stunning house in stunning location
From start to finish this was a superb holiday. The communication with Paul was the best we have ever experienced. Information re house was excellent and accurate. The house is simply superb. Attention to detail was outstanding and the quality of all internal and external furniture, fittings, decor and taste was extremely high. The welcome pack was a real treat and well stocked for anyone who maybe didn’t have time to get to the shops beforehand. In the current Covid crisis the house was immaculate and had all the necessary cleaning agents to keep everyone safe. Hot tub was spotlessly clean and we used it every day. The views and aspect of this house were breathtaking, watching sunsets from the balcony was a magical experience. All in all this house and it’s owner excelled and are more than worthy of a five star rating. Oh and yes we’ll be back. Superb !!

Fantastic cottage in a great location.
Scone Cottage is a beautiful cottage in a wonderful part of Scotland. The welcome was exceptional and the property is very well appointed with everything one would expect of a high quality cottage. The hot tub was a definite hit, especially for relaxing after a good day's walking. We really didn't want to leave at the end of our week.

5 star property and stunning location
What a brilliant location to relax for a few days. The property was very well appointed with quality furniture and very comfortable beds and bedding. The owner had gone the extra mile to make us feel welcome. The property has stunning views over Loch Shuna and away to Luing, Jura and Mull ( especially from the hot tub ). We were lucky enough to see four sea otters playing in the loch whilst we were walking. We will definitely be back in the summer.
