About the host

Host profile image
Formerly the gamekeepers cottage for the pennyholme estate, Otterhills is
surrounded by a moorland garden set around the River Hodge Beck.

Pennyholme occupies a magical setting in the Sleightholmedale valley six miles to
the northeast of Helmsley in the beautiful North York Moors National Park

Originally built as a working farm in around 1815, Pennyholme has evolved over the
years with a rich and varied history.

It is now a private home set within nearly 100 acres.

From your doorstep you will have access to an array of country walks that wind their
way through ancient woodland, breath taking moors and lush green fields. Walkers
and mountain bikers will find themselves in paradise with numerous paths and trails
to explore.

Environmental considerations are foremost and great care is taken to have a
responsible stewardship and maintain the natural beauty of the environment.

There is also a swimming pond and tennis court, which we would be delighted for
you to use, (but we will have to ask you to sign a disclaimer before using them).

We hope you and have a relaxed and pleasurable time in our small corner of the
wonderful North Yorkshire moors.
