About this property
Curlew Waterside Retreat
A beautifully positioned semi-circular contemporary building hidden within a timeless National Park. The house is set into the banks of an expansive tidal estuary flanked by woodlands of Oak and Ash, facing south and west over an unspoilt river with huge open views of sky and water. Offering a staggering 180° panorama you will marvel as the strong tide ebbs and flows - open the door and feel your heart fly over serene and astonishing natural beauty at this unique and tranquil getaway. A host of stunning beaches within easy reach, such as Freshwater East (4mls), Tenby (10.5mls), Saundersfoot (11mls) and Broad Haven (13mls) a few minutes further by car, with lily ponds, tea room and beautiful beach with bathing. There are many nearby visitor attractions, with Oakwood (10.3mls), Folly Farm (10.6mls) and Heatherton (6.6mls) to be enjoyed by all.
There are four bedrooms on the entrance floor. The sumptuous master bedroom has a king size bed, en-suite bathroom with a bath, separate shower and WC, and your own balcony with seating from which to admire the wonderful sea views. There are three other bedrooms (2x super kings (1 can be a twin on request, zip/link) and 1x king) with en-suites and delightful water views from every room The impressive staircase will stun you as it drops 5.5 meters away to the ground floor, framed by a huge panel of glass and double doors that lead out onto a large terrace. On the ground floor, there is a spacious kitchen/diner which has a lot of natural light and beautiful views thanks to the large windows looking out onto the terrace, the pool and the Cleddau estuary. The breakfast bar is a sociable place to gather for morning coffee or to chat whilst dinner is prepared. There is a separate utility room with a washing machine and a tumble dryer. The kitchen leads into the lounge/diner which is the perfect space to entertain. The dining table seats 8 easily and is ideal for family meals. The sitting room is full of comfortable seating in front of the Smart TV, perfect to relax and watch a movie or two. On the last lower level is a long sky-lit sunroom full of comfort and extravagant mature plants. The sunroom is equipped with a separate kitchenette, dishwasher, fridge and a small dining table. Also located on this floor are also a boot room and w/c.
Outside, the large garden wraps around the property and is mainly patio surrounded by beautiful trees and plants, and there is plenty of outdoor seating as well as a gas powered BBQ. Access to the outside of the property is from the ground floor via large patio doors. Additionally, impressive sliding doors lead out from the sunroom onto the terrace with a solar heated swimming pool (open May - September only), beyond which you will find a hot tub nestled among the rocks near the river from where you can admire the fabulous sunsets that unravel throughout the year.
