Canny Cottage perfectly combines original features with a modern twist, featuring a bold colour palette and complete with delightful fixtures and fittings throughout.
The living room features two large leather sofas, and an original stone feature wall surrounding the log burner to create relaxing space to enjoy with all the family.
The kitchen-dining space is the perfect place to prepare and enjoy home cooked meals. Fully equipped with oven, hob, microwave, toaster and kettle, the kitchen is ideal for those who love to cook during their self-catering stays. With seating for everyone, the whole family can enjoy mealtimes together.
The three bedrooms are each tastefully decorated and designed with calm in mind, so you are on track for a peaceful night's sleep. When staying at Canny Cottage, you’ll have the choice of two double beds or a bunk bed with two singles, an ideal configuration if you are travelling as couples, or with children or friends. Each bed is dressed in comfortable bedding and luxury linens. After a day in the countryside, just fall into one of these delightful beds and drift off to sleep.
The bathroom is a bright and well thought out space boasting sloped ceilings. Enjoy a long hot soak in the freestanding with a handheld shower. The bathroom is complete with WC and basin.
At the rear of the property, you will find a fully enclosed garden area with a large, grassed area, perfect to take in some fresh Northumberland air.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full property. The keys to Canny Cottage are accessed via a key safe box and full details will be provided prior to check-in.
Private on-site parking is available for one vehicle. Free on-street parking is also available in Otterburn.
Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome to stay at Canny Cottage per reservation.
The Neighborhood:
Otterburn is a vibrant, picturesque community. As the site of the Battle of Otterburn, this village has a violent history which is almost undetectable against the peaceful landscape of the Redesdale Valley. You can visit the battlefield site on the outskirts of Otterburn where The Percy Cross marks the site of the battle.
This small village is home to the Otterburn Mill. The Mill contains a museum outlining the history of weaving and wool-milling in the area. The Otterburn Rug has even been endorsed by the Royal Family, with Queen Elizabeth II owning one when she was a baby.
Otterburn has a local shop for picking up those essential items, along with a couple of pubs.
If you enjoy walking Otterburn is perfectly situated to get your walking boots on and head out on a walk. When visiting Otterburn a trip to Kielder Water & Forest Park is a must.
