About this property
Welsh Miners Cottage
Our cottage is situated in its original surroundings; the old mining village of Cwmparc.
Now reclaimed by nature and with the Bwlch Mountain towering above the area it is a walker's paradise.
Walks start straight out of the garden, leading in all directions. With sheep in the fields as companions and strolling along the rambling brook, it is easy to forget that one is actually only a few minutes away from all modern conveniences in Treorchy with shops, bars and restaurants.
The space
Cottage has back lane access to garden with parking for your car.
Conservatory has wicker furniture and electric realistic wood burner/ fan heater and bookcase with toys and games.
Kitchen is fully equipped with electric stove and fan oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, sandwich toaster, pots, pans, tupperware, crockery and cutlery.
Washing machine and tumble dryer are situated in the kitchen. There is also a small table with seating should you wish to eat there.
Off the kitchen is a single, disabled friendly bedroom with an ensuite bathroom/wet room with toilet, washbasin and shower. It also has a collapsible bathtub for a relaxing soak.
Upstairs is an open plan living/dining room with comfortable sofas, coffee table and 42” TV set, books and beautiful views overlooking the hills.
Dining room with welsh dresser and extendable table to sit 6.
Main entrance is also on this level leading to the Street.
Second floor is where the remaining three bedrooms are located. Master bedroom with double bed and views out the back, another small double and a single with High sleeper and chair underneath
There is another bathroom upstairs with shower, wash basin and toilet.
Garden has a folding table and chairs for outdoor dining and a hose to wash off muddy paws.
Cottage is pet friendly!
Besides local walks, you are within 30/40 min drive of Brecon Beacons waterfalls, Showcaves, Pen-y-Fan, Zip world (20min), Caerphilly castle, The Royal Mint, Ogmore-by-Sea with its stepping stones across River Ogmore and Europe’s second largest sand dune at Merthyr Mawr and of course Afan Forest Park for mountain biking.
