This lovely flat has been created from the space where the Solsgirth House Butler once lived. It’s attached to the main country house, with its own entrance, making the accommodation completely private. The Butler’s Flat is located on the ground floor, and has a cosy living room with log burner, fully equipped modern kitchen, a double bedroom with fitted wardrobes and an en-suite bathroom with walk in shower room.

A most fabulous place

I visited Solsgirt home farm to do a little research for my stage play about emus. I instantly fell in love with not only the emus but the entire farm experience. 11 beautiful piglets were born while I was there. They were leaping around and loving life after a day. Inspiring. The cattle are also extraordinary up close, but my main passion was for the emus, who are so chilled out and friendly. When not on the farm I enjoyed rambles in Dollar Glen and a hike up and up and up to stunning Castle Campbell, a short drive away. This was all made possible by the lady of the manor, Jan. She is an inspiring joy to be in the company of. Jan was so generous with her time for me. She loves her farm and animals and it shows. It is a great success. The lodge I stayed in was immaculate and cosy. Great fresh bread and honey from the farm too! A most lovely, fascinating and peaceful place which I would recommend a visit to everyone. Now I REALLY love emus!

Would stay again

Bigger than we expected; photographs do not do the flat justice. Large and comfortable bed with good size en suite. Plenty of walks especially in Ochils. Friendly host who was readily available and gave us a tour of the farm. Excellent welcoming basket of goodies. Nice place to come back to.
