Red Wharf Bay
Red Wharf Bay sits on the east coast of the island and is around 2.5 miles long and is between the outstanding villages of Red Wharf Bay and Llanddona. Pentraeth Forest, sitting atop the private land at Tan Y Fron and known as Traeth Coch in Welsh, is on the eastern edge of the bay and provides indelible magical views of the full stretch of the bay. It’s a vibrant and fun little village that provides a warm and hearty welcome to visitors and offers some of the very best of North Wales. You’re also not far away from the town of Benllech which has a bustling town centre and a great beach as well as access to popular water sports and shops.
For parents of little ones and for dog parents, please be aware that both will need supervising during your visit as there is an unfenced steep slope beyond the front garden and unenclosed grounds.
Tan Y Fron has some of the most incredible views across the Red Wharf Bay that will take your breath away and make you wonder why you didn’t visit sooner. Dating back to 1780, with a hand written, translated letter from one of the original family that built the property framed on the wall. Lovingly renovated and rebuilt by the current owners, this historic property brings heritage with scenery and contemporary interiors.
