Experience the jaw-dropping beauty of the Sorrento Peninsula at Villa Punta San Lorenzo, a 4-bedroom villa tucked away in the hills near the furthest point of the peninsula. Set slightly off the beaten track, the location attracts fewer crowds than the fashionable towns of Sorrento and Positano, offering an idyllic spot to appreciate the extraordinary beauty that has made this corner of Italy so popular.

Immersed in verdant hills that slope down to the water’s edge, the traditional-style villa is 550m from the nearest beach and just 2km from Massa Lubrense town centre with its shops, restaurants and transport links.

Outside, large furnished terraces provide plenty of additional living space. Separate shaded dining and lounge seating areas mean you’ll spend little time indoors during the warmer months of the year, and with extra outdoor bench seating and occasional tables, there is ample space for everyone to drink in the spellbinding sea views from their own little corner of heaven. Access to the terrace is from several sets of French doors that lead from the kitchen and living room.

Interiors are simply furnished, in keeping with local traditional style. Worn terracotta tiled flooring, polished with the passage of time, and local artefacts and antique furniture add to the charm. The living room provides plenty of seating for all, with an assortment of sofas and armchairs in addition to a circular glass table which offers an alternative dining space. Another dining table, with bench seating on one side, is available in the separate kitchen, which is well equipped for a party of 8, with ample storage cupboards, a breakfast bar and several large windows.

Apart from the one guest toilet on the ground floor, bedrooms and bathrooms are on a lower floor, accessed via an internal staircase of about 17 stairs. All bedrooms and bathrooms run off a light-filled corridor.

Air conditioning is available in the bedrooms only.

• For arrivals from 8:00 PM to midnight a late arrival fee of 60,00 euros will be requested. For arrivals after midnight a late arrival fee of 80,00 euros will be requested

• Hop on a ferry or hydrofoil from Sorrento port to Capri and other destinations.
• Easy access to Positano (19km), Amalfi (36km) and Ravello (40km).
• Outdoor enthusiasts will love walking the Sentiero delle Sirenuse and along the rural lanes and paths through the Punta Campanella.

• The area around Massa Lubrense is a walker’s paradise. Enjoy leisurely strolls along meandering pathways through the Mediterranean scrub and pine forests, past olive groves, vegetable patches and picture-postcard villages, and enjoy mesmerising views of the peninsula and its offshore islands. For some of the best views, head west to Punta Campanella and the Bay of Ieranto.
• Experience the region’s iconic gastronomy with a visit to one of the Michelin-starred restaurants in nearby Nerano or Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi.
• Although this part of the Sorrento Peninsula is quieter than several neighbouring towns, this is still one of the world’s most popular tourist spots. We therefore always recommend booking your holiday in May, June or September if you can. If that’s not possible, you’ll certainly avoid some of the crowds by staying in this more tranquil location.
• We do recommend having a car, and there is parking for one car. However, local roads can be narrow, so you may wish to take advantage of the local SITA bus network for exploring other locations on the peninsula.
