About this property
Sweetslade Cottage - Near Bourton-on-the-Water
Shut yourself away from everyday life and step into this cosy hideaway. Sweetslade Cottage is made for taking time for yourself and relishing the glorious countryside that is all around you. Standing alongside meadows just off the Sabrina Way, the cottage nestles into its setting. With its honey-hued exterior and carefully styled interior, this is a welcoming getaway.
Filled with carefully curated furniture upcycled and reclaimed furniture, with local artists work on display, no part of Sweetslade goes unnoticed. Shutting away the outside world your comfort is a priority with exquisite linens and bedding sweeping you off to sleep. In the morning begin with a pastry or two and freshly ground coffee to start your day. If you're a late riser there is a TV and radio for gentle background noise to ease you into wakefulness.
Follow the passing walking route and you will find your way to a wildflower meadow and lawned garden. The meadows are mown with a path through the longer grasses and flowers, lay a blanket here and lose yourself in a novel. In the adjacent field you will find loungers, the perfect setting for chilled sundowners.
Ground Floor
Bedroom Suite:
Olive green panelling is the backdrop to antique furniture from France and Belgium, a Persian rug adorns the floor and there are treasures throughout. Within this space there are dedicated areas to suit all your activities. If you must catch up on work, set yourself up at the desk. Wrap up in the armchair to read and spread out on the very comfortable bed to drift away.
Kitchenette:
The kitchenette is perfect for continental breakfasts of pastries, chilled meats and freshly squeezed juice. There is a toaster, kettle and fridge with a small freezer compartment but please note there are no cooking facilities available.
Shower Room:
After a shower in the spa-like rainfall shower, wrap up in a provided robe to sip coffee at the breakfast bar.
Outside
Take advantage of the outdoor space by taking your breakfast to the bistro set on the paved terrace or meander to the meadows to stretch your legs. One has been left to grow wildflowers while the second is lawned with loungers and a table. Following the Sabrina Way which passes the front door, you can reach Clapton-on-the-Hill or head to Cold Aston for a pub dinner.
