A truly magnificent architectural design Horse Spout lakestead is a detached lodge providing you the very best in holiday accommodation, it starts from the minute you enter the estate, driving past the beautiful Belted Galloway cattle as you head towards your holiday home. As you step in, you are greeted with a contemporary kitchen, fully equipped for all your needs and with views to die for, it will make cooking on your holiday that little more enjoyable! With floor to ceiling windows throughout the open plan living/dining area with the wood burner taking centre stage. From the living area there are two kingsize bedrooms and a twin bedroom, all with en-suite large showers and toilets. Horse Spout is close to the estate’s lake so as you sit on your balcony you can enjoy views to the front of the Lakestead, whilst the rear boasts a private hot tub overlooking the woodland. For those curious; a barn owl lives in the wood opposite and for this reason there is a commissioned painting of a barn owl for Horse Spout.
Exploring the immediate area, Backbarrow is set in the South Lakes peninsula, a perfect base to visit many popular attractions in the Lake District. Just 2 miles down the road is the Haverthwaite steam railway, hop aboard and enjoy the stunning landscape as you head into Bowness-on-Windermere. A short drive away is Newby Bridge, home to the Lakes Aquarium and Windermere Lake cruises. Three miles away is the popular priory village of Cartmel famous for it’s sticky toffee pudding, horse racing weekends, both a one and two Michelin star restaurant, and many quaint country pubs, this beautiful village well worth a visit. Beach 5 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub 1½ miles and restaurant 2 miles.
