Cozy holiday home in a rural setting near Copenhagen
Enjoy a delightful stay in a rural setting, nestled on a large natural plot with views over fields and a protected area. Look forward to beautiful experiences, relaxation, and closeness to nature. Perfect for couples or singles looking for their own cottage and a central location within reasonable distance to Copenhagen, Roskilde and beaches. Children and dogs are very welcome.
The House
The house is insulated for year-round use, with a bedroom offering a view; a living room with a sofa arrangement, wood stove, and dining area; a small kitchen with an oven and stovetop; an entryway with storage space, and a bathroom with a small shower section—all spread across 55 m². It can accommodate 2 adults and 2 children under 12.
The Garden
You will have access to the entire 2800 m² garden, which includes a terrace, garden furniture, a firepit, and playground equipment, all of which can be freely used. The house is situated on a natural plot with a small stream in the backyard, offering plenty of exciting wildlife and insects for nature enthusiasts. Note: Mosquitoes and the like may also appear depending on the season. Noise from neighbours may also occur.
Experiences in the Area
With the holiday home as your base, you have the opportunity to explore Copenhagen and Roskilde. Locally, you’ll find dining options in Sengeløse and Smørum. Enjoy the view of the fjord at Jyllinge beach or visit Ishøj beach, home to the Arken Art Museum. If you enjoy nature experiences, try the local fishing lakes, find the giants in Hedeland, and don't miss the Gundsømagle Lake bird reserve. 'City 2' in Taastrup offers indoor outlet shopping of Danish brands.
Transportation
By car, it takes 8 minutes to reach the nearest highway. If you're heading to Copenhagen, you can conveniently park your car at Høje Taastrup station and take the regional train into the city in just 15 minutes. Public transport is also possible. Bus 163 from Veksø station stops at Nybølle, and from there, it's a 12-minute walk.
About the host
We are a family of four—my husband and our two daughters, ages 10 and 13. Both of us work full-time as academics. We've owned the summer house since 2014 and are very familiar with the area. Our permanent home is just 20 minutes away, and we're happy to offer personalized suggestions for local experiences. Check-in and check-out are self-service, but feel free to contact us if you need any assistance.
