South Cottage is one of three beautiful Grade II listed character cottages transformed from redundant barn buildings into delightful holiday accommodation. Accessed via a rough track and commanding spectacular panoramic views over Swaledale, South Cottage is detached and ideally placed for those wishing to escape from hustle and bustle into this beautiful area of Yorkshire.
Upon entering the cottage, guests are welcomed by the cosy and inviting atmosphere. The focal point of the living area is a traditional inglenook fireplace with a wood burner, perfect for curling up in front of on chilly evenings. The comfortable seating area is perfect for relaxing, reading or playing board games, and there’s a Smart TV for those who want to catch up on their favourite shows. As the floors are all traditional stone, to make your stay even cosier, don’t forget your slippers! The traditional oak kitchen with a breakfast area is well-equipped for self-catering, and there is a separate dining room with large table for enjoying meals with family and friends. Downstairs, there is a spacious bathroom with P-shaped bath with shower, and upstairs, there are three generously sized bedrooms, each with spectacular views over Swaledale. The bedrooms have comfortable beds and plenty of storage space, and there is a family bathroom with a large shower. Outside is an enclosed patio garden that offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside. There is a picnic table for enjoying al fresco dining, and guests can soak up the tranquil atmosphere and enjoy the fresh air. Wi-Fi signal is intermittent due to the rural location.
Swaledale is a haven for those who love the outdoors with footpath walks and hikes accessible from the doorstep. The area is popular with artists, photographers and writers drawing inspiration from the dramatic scenery. South Cottage is around three miles from the popular town of Reeth, with a good range of amenities including pubs and restaurants serving local produce, tea rooms and bakeries, and for those wishing to explore further afield, the market towns of Richmond, Hawes and Leyburn are all just a short drive away.
South Cottage can be booked together with West Cottage (CC219002) and East Cottage (UK2005) to accommodate up to 13 guests
