About this property
Tan y Bryn, Holiday Cottage Newport, Sleeps 10, 4 bedrooms, bathrooms
Tan y Bryn is a stunning house in the heart of the popular town of Newport. Deceptively spacious with sea views over the roof tops, it is just a few minutes walk from all its facilities and the glorious Newport Parrog Beach and the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. Beautifully and sympathetically renovated throughout, it retains plenty of characterful features, furnished in an eclectic mix of modern and traditional pieces that gives it a light and simple yet welcoming feel complimented by soft furnishings in warm Welsh tones from the local Woollen Mill. The quarry tiled hallway leads to a spacious sitting room with high ceilings and comfortable sofas, there is a further sitting room with a wood burning stove in an original fireplace. Double doors open to the wonderful kitchen/diner well-equipped with a large farmhouse dining table to enjoy meals together, sliding doors open to a paved courtyard and the enclosed terraced rear garden. There is another cosy snug for those chillier evenings, ideal for curling up with a good book next to the wood burning stove.Stairs lead up to the bedrooms above, at the half landing the double bedroom with 5 steps up, is a real treat with its exposed stone and brickwork, enjoy long soaks in the roll-top bath, there is a convenient ensuite cloakroom here. On the first floor there is a family bathroom and 2 triple bedrooms, both amazingly spacious, but the ultimate bedroom has to be the master, set in the eaves on the 2nd floor with its A frame beams and ensuite bathroom, beautifully light, the velux windows offers wonderful views over the roof tops to Newport Beach and out to sea.The rear courtyard is an absolute sun trap where you can enjoy an alfresco meal, steps lead up to a further patio and 2 terrace sloping lawns. The view from the top is super over the roof tops to the golden Newport Sands Beach and blue sea. Perfectly located in the heart of this popular town, it is only a short walk to all the pubs, shops, restaurants and art galleries. Spend your days on Newport Sands, The Parrog is only a few minutes walk away. Take to the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path to really appreciate this stunning coastline. Set on the Nevern Estuary, the area teams with bird and wildlife. Newport has a long maritime history and many seasonal events centre on this, revolving round its boat club, so ideal for keen sailers and boating enthusiasts, while kayakers will enjoy exploring these sheltered waters. Enthusiastic golfers will find the sea views from Newport Golf Course some of the best in the country. If you can tear yourself away from the coast, head in land following one of the many footpaths heading up Carn Ingli or Mountain of Angels, the views from the top are well worth the effort with the coastline spread out before you. There really is something for everyone, enjoy a slower pace to life, park your car once you arrive and explore everything on foot, this holiday home is sure to delight whatever the season and ideal for family get togethers and friends to reunite.
