About this property
Oriel Cottage, Aldeburgh
Oriel Cottage is a pretty pink 18th Century fisherman's holiday home ideally located in the middle of Aldeburgh High Street with all its shops, restaurants and pubs and also has a "tunnel" at the back giving you direct access to the beach. Oriel Cottage comfortably accommodates 6 guests and is pet-friendly, so your pet won't miss out. One well-behaved dog welcome.
You step into the light and airy living room with 2 large sofas, a pouffe and a dining table and chairs that seats 8. There is also a wood burner, to snuggle up in front of, on those chilly winter nights. There is a Smart TV with Freeview channels, a NOW TV stick and a DVD player and a large selection of books, DVDs and games for you to enjoy during your stay.
This leads into the fully-equipped compact kitchen with a free standing electric hob with oven, 2 fridges and a small freezer, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, kettle and toaster. A door leads out to the small yard where there is a table and a couple of chairs so you can sit and enjoy your breakfast, as this is a sun-trap in the mornings.
Also on the ground floor is a shower room with a walk in shower cubicle, WC, sink and heated towel rail.
On the first floor there are 2 bedrooms and a family bathroom.
Bedroom 1 has a king size bed, bedside tables, fitted wardrobes, a chair and a vanity seat and mirror. Bay windows look out over the High Street.
Bedroom 2 has a double bed (but can be made as twins if requested), bedside tables and a large wardrobe.
The bathroom is light and airy with a large roll-top bath with mixer taps in the centre, WC, sink and heated towel rail.
Bedroom 3 is in the attic space with twin beds. The large velux window on the attic stairs makes this a lovely light and airy space. The stairs up to the attic room are quite steep and narrow, so may not be suitable for very young or elderly guests. There is a TV in the room so makes a great snug for the kids to escape to.
Oriel Cottage is perfectly located in the middle of the High Street, yet set back off the pavement by railings giving you privacy from the hustle and bustle of people visiting this popular town. Aldeburgh is a historic town by the beach with lots going on and plenty to do; restaurants with great food, shops, a cinema, music, culture, sailing club, golf and tennis, as well as local walks and relaxing on the beach.
No smoking at the property.
No pets to be allowed on the furniture or upstairs.
No unaccompanied teenagers.
Oriel Cottage is to be left as you found it with any glass bottles or containers taken away by the guests.
