Atlantic Ocean and Mountain View Cottage in Kerry
This older property is a typical traditional old Irish stone cottage in style. Left uninhabited for a number of years it has been lovingly restored to once again be a place to enjoy. Care was taken to maintain its unique character and features. It is situated ideally for those who want country-side breaks with beautiful stunning scenery and walks on the doorstep. The cottage has three bedrooms and can comfortably sleep five. The two large spacious upstairs bedrooms have king-size beds and sea views from the east room and mountain views from the west room. Typically, the stairs are steep so please make sure it suits. The downstairs bedroom has one single bed and easy access to the bathroom with walk in shower and toilet. It has two reception rooms both with views of the sea and surrounding countryside. There is a large kitchen with fridge, microwave, oven, hob, air fryer, slow cooker and washing machine. There is a music system in the living room. There is no WiFi. Dogs are welcome to stay at the property. An outside tap enables muddy equipment to be cleaned. Guest access - the property has ample parking for a number of cars.
The property is on the Dingle peninsula, Ballyduff near Cloghane, County Kerry, with a boundary less than 2 miles from the newly formed National Park (Páirc Náisiúnta na Mara) incorporating lakes, islands, marine reefs, and the iconic Conor Pass. From spectacular walks to pristine, idyllic beaches the area has walks for everyone. With the imposing Mount Brandon rising over 900 metres above sea-level and the surrounding terrain replete with stunning walking trails to suit all fitness levels, no trip to this area is complete without a brisk hike – or at least a gentle stroll – along many established routes. A special place that gives a sense of immense space and freedom, walkers can appreciate Bronze Age monuments and standing stones, and the abundant flora and fauna of the area. For a more tourist experience, with retail shopping, cafes, and bars head to Dingle town by way of the Conor Pass for the most scenic and exciting car journey. Fermoyle strand, less than 2 miles from the cottage is the western part of a sandy beach stretching for 14 km, making it Ireland’s longest beach. The bay opens up to the Atlantic Ocean and is a favourite spot for surfers in particular. The property is situated on the busy main R560 road.
