About this property
Hilcot Farmhouse - pet-friendly rural farm retreat near Cheltenham
Life at Hilcot Farmhouse is a world away from big city life, sweeping you off to a rural escape on a traditional working farm. When you arrive, every turn is met with pastoral scenes as cows gently graze and birds flit past. As if plucked from a daydream, your time here will create memories of family days out, spotting animals in the surrounding fields and spending uninterrupted time together. For the children a stay here is a real adventure as you can arrange a tour of the farm to see behind the scenes.
Flooded with light this country getaway is spacious and homely. Meals can be served in the dining room where the window frames the garden view, before gathering in the living room for evening games. Upstairs, each bedroom looks across lush greenery and is finished in neutral tones to allow the colours of the view to really shine.
You will cherish time spent in the gardens here, lazing in the sun and relaxing with morning coffees in the conservatory. Al fresco dining is certainly on the cards with a dining table on the terrace surveying the countryside backdrop. Fire up the BBQ or linger over evening drinks after the children have been taken off to bed. From the far side of the garden, you can watch as the sun sets behind the treeline, a romantic end to fun-filled days.
Ground Floor
Conservatory
Drenched in sunlight on summers days, or a wonderful hideout when the weather is less favourable, the conservatory doubles as a quiet breakfast spot and a space to store your walking boots and coats.
Kitchen
The quintessential farmhouse kitchen has everything you would associate with country living. A large rangecooker, traditional wooden cabinets and printed tiles set the scene for cooking meals from farm produce. Speak to the owners to stock up on ingredients without the food miles.
Dining Room
Flowing from the kitchen, the dining room features an exposed stone fireplace beside the table. After clearing the table, spread out the maps to plan tomorrow's walk.
Sitting Room
This uplifting room allows you to rest, nestled amongst natural surroundings. Get lost in a novel, watch a film or simply follow the scenery as shades of green change throughout the day letting time be lost in quiet contemplation. One of the sofas here can be converted to a bed for two guests.
Cloakroom
A useful addition to the ground floor, the cloakroom is perfect for little ones to wash up before dinner or after a walk with the dogs.
First Floor
Bedroom One
Drawing back the curtains, you are greeted by an inspiring morning view. The room is filled with light as you awake from deep slumber, rejuvenated and ready for a day of adventures. With a king-size bed this is the largest bedroom and there is plenty of storage so you can unpack and feel at home.
Bathroom
With both a shower and bathtub, you can either while away the hours amongst the bubbles or get your day off to a brisk start with a refreshing shower.
Bedroom Two
This comfortable room features a double bed and charming dressing table, a lovely retreat at the end of the day.
Shower Room
The spacious rainfall shower washes away the day after spending it walking the countryside spotting butterflies and deer.
Bedroom Three
Bright and airy, this tranquil bedroom has two single beds and a delightful garden view looking across the terrace.
Outside
The garden at Hilcot Farmhouse is magnificent. You will want to spend as many hours here as you can, watching the shadows of clouds move across the undulating countryside, befriending the birds and playing with the children and dogs. Bring meals out to the terrace or lay out a blanket on the lawn and be here from dawn til dusk, relishing the peaceful side of farm life.
