About this property
Romantic seafront beach house
Sunset Cottage is a pretty, 3 bedroom cottage offering everything for a lovely stay. Far reaching sea views can be enjoyed from the garden decking. The cottage has rare on-driveway parking and a fully enclosed secure garden great for dogs..
The cottage backs onto East Cowes esplanade, which has a beach, free tennis courts, and childrens play area. It sits on the doorstep of international sailing events such as The Round the Island Race and Cowes Week. The water taxi to the bars and restarants of Cowes is also just a short walk from the cottage and runs until late.
Just up the hill is Queen Victoria's palace 'Osbourne House' ,
The rest of the island is just a short bus journey or car ride away from attractions including Butterfly World, The Donkey Sanctuary, The Isle of Wight Steam Railway and The Garlic Farm.
Sunset Cottage is a great base also for surfing vacations and walking holidays, there being a surf school, and countless walking and cycle tracks all across the island.
Take in the sights from the decking, enjoy the American- style BBQ , cosy up with a film or home entertainment of your choosing, or simply enjoy a long soak in the 'Tubby Tub' roll top bath.
Cozy but still a good size, the modern kitchen blends into the older part of the cottage, making an ample sized dining room / work space, which then continues into a large comfortable sitting room with smart TV and high-speed Wifi powered by EE.
Upstairs bedrooms enjoy uninterrupted views over Cowes Harbour. The views from the terrace are again worth special mention, being interesting and always changing.
You can expect daytimes to be full of the water-traffic hustle and bustle of Cowes Harbour and the Royal Yacht Squadron - white sails everywhere.
Mornings and evenings are calmer, then in the evening sunsets fade into darkness, when all that can be seen are the pretty lights of Cowes across the bay.
Amenities: Sunset Cottage is one minutes drive from the Red Funnel vehicle ferry and within 30 minutes travel to the Red Jet.
Wightlink connections and hover travel to portsmouth are just a short drive or bus ride away.
The Cottage is close to a complex to include a large Waitrose supermarket, medical centre, dentist and a well equipped pharmacy.
Nearby East Cowes high street includes a post office, cafes offering breakfasts, restaurants, pubs, charity shops, a good takeaway, a late night Co'op and public transport hubs.
The nearby water taxi (chain ferry) is an adventure in its self - Walking distance to the cottage and offering a fun, low-cost ( £1 each way for foot passengers) & short crossing across the mouth of the Medina between East Cowes and the many bars and restaurants of (West) Cowes.
House Rules: - Check-in time is 2:30pm and check-out is 10am. Smoking is not allowed in the house. There is parking at the property and well behaved dogs are very warmly welcomed 🥰
