About the host
Hosted by Haoling Shi
We are Barry and Helen, we have Irish and Chinese cultural background and have lived in Bradford-on-Avon which is Barry's hometown since the age of 2, for about 15 years after 10 years in China in Helen's hometown Shenyang. We have enjoyed our travels in China and South-east Asia- Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia. And America, Australia, New Zealand, and many countries in Europe, we love sharing our cultural insights with the likeminded. We have worked together as business consultants, given Barry's background in IT and Global Services for banking and airline bookings, Helen's background in corporate training in Hospitality and education. We still work with the public schools in and around Bath in regards to helping international students to find a perfect homestay families as well as settling in in a new academic environment.
We enjoy hosting. It's a great opportunity to meet people, their knowledge of the world is our best assets during and after their stay. We love to be of help to those who have planned a special trip at or while passing Bradford-on-Avon.

Why they chose this property
Bradford-on-Avon is a place to call home, with grown-up children and one little child in primary school, we really enjoy living in this tranquil yet unassumingly vibrant town. We live in a modest house, at a prime location with easy access to everything. The cabin is a unique feature of the family home with its own entrance and outdoor seating area under the magical tree, we are extremely fortunate to have friendly, kind and supportive neighbours around us, we have enjoyed being a part of the community.
What makes this property unique
The cabin in in a prime location of Bradford-on-Avon, with easy access into town yet has its quiet surroundings on the top of town. It looks completely different from the houses around, nested in a large garden, with everything you need installed to ensure the most comfortable stay. The super large kingsized bed has an incredible mattress and quilt which we have got many lovely comments on. Super soft linens and towels are great for cosiness.
There are 2 powerful heating panels on the walls and a heater in the bathroom, these makes the cabin toasty warm in winter days. We provide two large bottles of filtered water daily, we live onsite but in a different building. You can enjoy absolute privacy with room-darkening curtains and simply a very quiet neighbourhood.
