About this property
Robin Cottage - Cornwall
Set on Cornwall’s stunning Roseland Peninsula and overlooking the River Fal, this delightful, one-storey holiday cottage has one of the best views of Ruan creek with it's abundant wildlife and offers a peaceful base for couples or small families with two dogs in tow. Admire the beautiful countryside around you before setting out to discover it for yourself during days of riverside walks along the River Fal, stopping at Lamorran Woods (1 mile) to let dogs and little ones run around. No Cornish holiday is complete without a beach day, so head down to the golden sands of Pendower Beach (3 miles), Portloe (5 miles) or Portscatho (5.5 miles), where you can also join the famous South West Coast Path for memorable walks. For fine dining and dog-friendly restaurants, head to the vibrant fishing village of St Mawes (8 miles) or for a change of pace head to Truro (12 miles), Cornwall’s capital and discover a wide range of shops, shows, galleries, places to eat and it's spectacular Cathedral. Further up the A30 is the wonderful Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, both a great day out.
On arrival to this tranquil cottage, take a moment to appreciate the rolling countryside, tall trees, and pretty planting around you, then head inside where the Cornish charm continues. Well-presented and set out over one floor, a sense of comfort sweeps through the property. Furnished in soothing tones, the lounge is a serene space with a plump sofa and chairs that invite you to sit and unwind after days of Cornish adventure, flicking on the Smart TV for some evening entertainment. For further relaxation, but with a view, step through to the adjoining, glass-panelled sunroom where you can catch up on your novel or simply take in the delightful garden and creek views. You will also find a round, dining table in here so when stomachs start to rumble, walk through to the well-appointed kitchen were cream units and modern appliances make meal preparation a breeze. Enjoy the chef’s work back in the sunroom or al fresco-style out on of the two furnished patios with views over the creek and the many species of wildlife that call it home. Alternatively just sit in the gorgeous cottage garden and relax to the sound of the birds. When it’s time to call it a night, choose between a sumptuous king-size bedroom with a Smart TV and access to the serene garden or a welcoming twin bedroom filled with natural light and homely touches. Serving the bedrooms is a well-equipped family bathroom.
When the sun shines, the garden is the place to be. This beautiful and calming area is surrounded by rolling countryside, busy with the sound of birdsong and other local wildlife such as deer, Kingfishers, Canadian Geese, Woodpeckers and nesting House Martins. Gather at the furnished patio and fire up the BBQ for al fresco feasts together or simply find a quiet corner on the lawn, under a tree or beside the pond to unwind with a cup of something warm.
