Cherub Cottage is a Grade II listed property situated in the heart of this historic town of Dartmouth on the River Dart. The property is full of charm and character with period features and is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the town and also benefits from private off street parking close by.
Step through the wooden gate into the sunny walled courtyard garden, a fabulous place to enjoy your morning coffee in amongst the mature shrubs before heading into the property. As you enter into Cherub Cottage on the left you will find the cosy but stylish lounge with a feature bay window with window seat overlooking the front garden at one end and a listed fireplace with inset gas fire , ideal for those cosy nights in front of the SMART TV. Opposite you will find the well equipped kitchen and dining room. The kitchen is furnished with shaker style units with built-in appliances comprising of an electric oven, microwave, induction hob, dishwasher, fridge freezer and washing machine as well as a Nespresso coffee machine. The dining area also benefits from a bay window with seating overlooking the garden and a round dining table and chairs to accommodate all guests.
Climb the stairs to the first floor where you will find a bright and airy landing area and where you will be greeted by the ‘resident mouse', Albert, star of “the Mouse who wanted to see the World' children's book written by James Hywel. On the right you will find the first bedroom furnished with a superking zip n link bed (can be singles on request) and a hidden en suite shower cubicle and washbasin. Opposite is bedroom 2 furnished with a double bed. Also on this floor you will find the family bathroom, a serene environment for relaxation and rejuvenation comprising of a bath with shower over, wc and washbasin and also a separate cloakroom.
Continue up another staircase to the attic ‘snug' room, an ideal place to sit and relax with no distractions and with views over the rooftops to Kingswear beyond.
Outside
To the front of the property is the enclosed sunny walled courtyard garden with mature shrubs and trees. Bistro dining and bench seating is provided for you to sit and enjoy this magical haven.
Parking
Guests have use of a private garage within a 5 minute walk from the property. Due to the garages location and access it is potentially only suitable for a small to medium sized car. On street parking close to the property is available (Higher Street has no restrictions all year round) but some restrictions may apply depending on the time of year on other nearby roads. If you have any questions then please contact our office before booking - size of garage: Garage door 2.25m wide x 2m high. Length of garage 4.90m
