The Funky Robin is an idyllic getaway that is located in the West Cliff area of Whitby a 5min stroll to the town centre and it's many pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops. This cosy first floor apartment features a Lounge/kitchen/diner, a king size bedroom and a well appointed bathroom all on one level. Perfect for a romantic getaway or relaxing stay for the solo traveller.
This first floor apartment offers high ceilings and tall windows befitting a bygone Victorian age, you’ll be welcomed into a bright and comfy space. The kitchen offers everything you could need with microwave, toaster, kettle, oven, fridge and washing machine perfect for your self-catering break by the sea.
The open plan dining and living area is spacious and quirky with lovely bay window overlooking the area. A cosy dining table perfect for your morning coffee or to enjoy an evening meal, Relax in comfort on the modern blue/teal sofa with large flat-screen TV to while away the time. There is also a desk space so you can work whilst away if needed.
In the bedroom, you’ll find a very comfortable, Super King bed with luxury bedding and cushions which provides the perfect space to relax and have a tranquil oasis to recharge in comfort, enjoying a dreamy nights sleep.
The same style flows throughout the property offering comfort and stylish surroundings perfect for that seaside getaway.
The bathroom competes the space and is a clean and modern space with a large walk in shower.
Guests have access to the full apartment which is all on one level on the first floor.
The keys to the apartment are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.
Parking is on street and parking scratch card is provided.
The Funky Robin is located on the West side of Whitby a short 5 minute walk from the town centre. Here you will find an eclectic mix of cosy pubs, and the well renowned Magpie Cafe alongside many other local restaurants, cafes and quality fish and chip shops. Continue along Pier road and you will find West Cliff Beach which is lined with idyllic beach huts and has boasted a blue flag status passing the amusements as you go.
Back into Town the swing bridge takes you over to the older part of Whitby on the East bank with the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary and the Abbey, passing one of the oldest fish smokers in England on the way. If kippers take your fancy then there's no better place.
Local Whitby Jet shops are aplenty here to showcase this locally sourced commodity and some of the Jewelry on sale is breathtaking and a perfect souvenir to take home after your stay.
The streets are home to lots of lovely boutique shops and at points throughout the year are home to annual events such as the Bram Stokers Film Festival, Steampunk and Gothic weekends which people attend from all over the World and certainly a spectacle not to be missed, the events draw on the towns rich history as the birthplace of the Dracula stories and the inspiration for Bram Stoker.
Not forgetting that Whitby is the birthplace of Captain Cook and the memorial museum is a must for anyone interested in history.
There are countless options for those interested in walking in the North York Moors National Park, as the clifftop walks along the coastline are part of the Cleveland Way, and the Lyke Wake Walk finishes in nearby Ravenscar.
For the Train enthusiasts out there the town is frequently visited by the steam trains that run from Pickering and offer an enjoyable day out that takes you into history with some lovely quaint villages such as Grosmont along the way that showcase a bygone age.
Whitby train station is less than a mile away to explore the nearby villages in leisure as you pass some breathtaking scenery on the way.
There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Explore on one of the many buses to visit beautiful coastal villages like Scarborough, Ravenscar, Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes.
