THE APARTMENT
Welcome to sweet Caroline House, a 1950s residential mansion block that’s located just across the Bayswater Road from Kensington Palace and Kensington Gardens. A more attractive and central location you could not wish to find in London.
The apartment is situated on the second of fivefloors in the development and there is a lift. You're sure to be charmed by the bright and welcoming nature of this 974 sq ft residence which benefits from having numerous large windows letting in plenty of sunlight and a walk-out Juliette balcony.
Each of the rooms is decorated to a very high standard and designed to give you somewhere attractive to call home during your stay in London. Let’s look at those rooms:
THE KITCHEN
First on your left as you enter the apartment is your kitchen. Be sure to make use of the large fridge freezer and plentiful cupboard space to store your favourite food and drinks (there are supermarkets nearby in which you can stock-up).
While you’re in here, why not make yourself a coffee and pause to enjoy it at the table for two?
For those mealtimes you decide to prepare yourselves, you have all the appliances, cookware, plates, and glasses you’re likely to need to enjoy time together. But will you be tempted to eat out regularly by the sheer number of great restaurants and other eateries within easy reach of the apartment?
THE LIVING AREA
Next to the kitchen but separate from it is the apartment’s main living area, a bright and welcoming space with a dual aspect, real wood flooring and space enough for a sofa and dining table that seats 6.
If you’re planning a special occasion meal, here’s where you can all sit together and enjoy it, and afterwards move over to the large sofa and relax, perhaps to watch a film or stream a series on the wall-mounted smart TV. Extra seating comes in the form of a bean bag and chair, both of which you can move to wherever suits you best.
Open the double doors at the far end of this room and you’ve a Juliette balcony onto which you can step and take in the atmosphere of living in the heart of London.
THE 3 BEDROOMS
With 2 double beds and two single beds, this is a family friendly apartment that’s also ideal for work colleagues and clients looking to share high quality accommodation on business trips to the capital.
Let’s start with the master bedroom which, as with the lounge, has a double aspect that ensures plenty of natural light fills the room during the day. A double bed will ensure comfortable nights of rest throughout your stay, with storage space provided by a chest of drawers and an integrated wardrobe.
The ensuite bathroom affords you private space to enjoy a soak in the tub, or a quick refresh under the shower. Storage space for your toiletries is provided by shelving and cabinets with mirrored doors. This room also features workspace – a desk and chair tucked into a cosy alcove with its own window – plenty of room here to get your laptop out and connect with the world using the Wi-Fi that serves the entire apartment.
The bedroom with the two singles is straight ahead as you enter the apartment and features quality mattresses and bedding – something that all the beds in this property share in common. A chest of drawers provides ample storage space for the clothes of whoever gets this room.
The third of the bedrooms features the second of the double beds, another chest of drawers and a wardrobe with full-length mirrored doors, perfect for putting the final touches to whatever you’re wearing for the day – perhaps it’s something smart for a business meeting, or a more casual outfit for a day of leisurely sightseeing?
THE 2 BATHROOMS
We’ve already mentioned the ensuite in the main bedroom, so all that remains to cover is the shower room with wash basin and the separate cloakroom with WC and yet another wash basin. Between them, these spaces should give everyone enough room to get ready for days and nights out in London without too many delays.
THE LOCAL AREA
With Kensington Palace just a 3-minute walk over the road, and all kinds of London attractions nearby, you’ll soon see why so many people pay a premium to live in this area of London. Of course, with A Place Like Home, you can enjoy central London living for significantly less! Here’s just a small selection of places you might like to visit when you get here, along with their approximate distances from the apartment:
Tenpin Bowling on Queensway (1 min walk)
Kensington Gardens (2 mins walk)
Hyde Park (5 mins walk)
Oxford Street (for Selfridges) (2 miles)
Harrods (1.6 mile walk across Kensington Gardens / Hyde Park)
Bond Street (2.2 miles)
GETTING AROUND
Queensway London Underground station is a mere 100 metres from your apartment. Served by Central Line trains, you can catch services from here direct to Oxford Circus, Tottenham Court Road, Shepherd’s Bush, White City (for Westfield shopping), St. Paul’s (for the cathedral) and other locations in the east and west of the capital.
Just a 5-minute walk away is Bayswater tube station, where services on the Circle (yellow) and District (green) lines can whisk you to other destinations in London (check a tube map to see how many!)
If you prefer staying above ground, buses running along the Bayswater Road heading east toward Lancaster Gate, Marble Arch, Oxford Circus, Mayfair, Bond Street and beyond stop right outside Caroline House. You won’t even have to cross the road to get on board. You should also have no problem hailing a black taxi as they regularly run in both directions along Bayswater Road.
