Hike, bike (rentals available), sledding (sleds available), snow shoe (2 sets available), cross country ski, fire pit all on the property. Nearby: WI river, ATV road usage, fishing, tubing, canoeing, water sports 10 min away. trout fishing, hiking, snowmobiling, wine tasting tours, historic towns and sights. The 2150 square foot home boasts a fireplace enhanced by a 2 story rock faced chimney, an expansive wrap-around porch, a master suite, and a generous great room. The acreage is mostly wooded with about 8 acres open.

Country Quiet

We had a great time staying here. It was just what we needed, get away to the country for a few days. Everything is first class, from communicating with Dan to sitting on the surround porch, even though it was a bit brisk. Would go back in a second, perfect location, beautiful house and quiet.

Secluded Getaway

This is a great rental if you want to feel tucked away, but still have the convenience of amenities nearby if you need anything. Was nice to explore the property at our leisure, kitchen had all the basics, and the living room had plenty of space for everyone to relax and watch movies/tv. Beds are comfortable; maybe bring your own pillow if you like a firmer pillow. Really appreciated being able to bring our dog; he loved exploring the property too!

Family getaway

A fabulous getaway for our family. Beautiful log home and property, lots of space for 5 adults, had everything we needed. It was a cold weekend but the house was cozy and warm. We enjoyed a fire in the outdoor fire pit and explored some of the property. Great communication by the host, pleasant and friendly.

Perfect getaway!

The cabin is absolutely beautiful and you can't beat the land it sits on. Everything was immaculate upon arrival and we enjoyed our time there to relax and unwind.

My brother & I enjoyed our stay last year so much we decided on a return visit for our get together this year. We really enjoy the quiet, country setting, taking in the property views while relaxing on the deck and spending time at the fire pit in the evenings. This is a well appointed home with all the ammenities and features we like. It's close to town and there are a variety of walking trails close by to explore. A great place to stay for a getaway to the Driftless Area.

Girls weekend getaway!

This cabin is a wonderful place and has everything you need. It’s clean and very well stocked with cooking supplies, board games and electronics if wanted. There are tons of places to relax or even go for a hike, a great place that is close enough to town but far away enough to feel secluded. The farm eggs were tasty and the chickens enjoyable to watch.We had a fire one evening and got to hear an owl letting us know of his existence. I have no complaints, the communication was great with the owner and we will be back!

Summer Cabin Family Fun

This cabin experience was spectacular. The cabin itself is beautiful & the property is breathtaking. My wife & I had such a great time with our adult sons & daughter in law. We had fires in the fire pit, bbq’d several times, read books. Went shopping & dined in nearby cities. It was wonderful.

Grand Daughter get away

Mia loved the swing. We treated her with smores and a fire. My wife and I enjoyed watching a thunder storm roll through on Sunday evening. The peaceful surroundings made for a very relaxing stay!!

Seclusion retreat in peaceful location

What a wonderful property. We enjoyed the wrap around porch when it was sunny, along with the portion that was under the roof for a raining morning. The great room (TV) was equipped with a Roku device which allowed us to AirPlay to stream anything from our iPhones. We felt the kitchen had everything we needed, there wasn't anything we couldn't find. A great plus was working ice and water from the fridge. The grill is charcoal so be prepared to pick up some in town unless a bag is left over from the previous stay. When using the fire pit area you can likely find enough sticks around the property for starting. There is a small stream near the firepit that runs along the property which provided a nice water ambiance. I'd also recommend bringing pants if you want to walk some of the property as the grass is a taller then the area that is mow'd. Highly recommend going to the Richland Locker in town for any meat, snacks, sides, and New Glarus 6 packs. Fresh eggs were provided by the owner which were incredible. The house was comfortable tempature wise as we visited when it was around 85 during the day, felt cool coming in and nice inside.

Love it

I love the property. It was our second time staying there and it was just as gorgeous as the first. I love the wide open yard for my kids to play in. I love how huge the cabin is, the wrap around porch is amazing, the giant living room is awesome. I just love this property. Oh and the complimentary fresh eggs were delicious. I would recommend this property to any family looking for a get away.

A slice of paradise

This is a great place to truly get away from the day to day grind. The home is located in a valley full of all kinds of birds. I have never seen so many in one location at the same time. Overall the atmosphere was very tranquil, and the house provided the perfect resting spot. The kitchen utensils were adequate as we cooked at least 85% of our meals at the home. The beds were very comfortable.

A wonderful Wisco retreat

My group had a fantastic stay at the Driftless Escape. The cabin itself is spacious, clean, and updated with modern amenities while feeling rustic and cozy. Dan was a helpful host and a thorough communicator which made check in and check out a breeze. Bonus points because he’s a music lover. We truly can’t say enough good things about this space- hope to be back again someday soon!

Great Winter Weekend!

We had a great weekend at the cabin this winter. It’s a great place for hiking and sledding, and we spent a great deal of time outside, even had a fire in the fire pit so the kids could roast hotdogs for lunch after building snow forts in the valley across the stream. The cabin had everything we needed and was just as beautiful as the pictures. Very clean and plenty of space. Dan was communicative and answered all my questions before we got there. We will definitely be back!

Great Property

Second time we have stayed here, great isolated property in the driftless region. There was a big snow storm ahead of our stay and the owner had the drive plowed before our arrival which is appreciated.

Hidden Gem

Dan was a great host and answered any and all questions. Beautiful log home, with everything you need for a great stay. Everyone enjoyed hiking around the property, having a nice outdoor fire by the creek. Kids loved the movie theater (great room) and to see all the chickens. We will definitely be booking again. Summer - secluded, pure driftless beauty all to yourself within 2 valleys and 3 hills surrounding you. Outcroppings untouched by the ice age are abundant. NO mosquitos thanks to the well drained landscape as you sit by the fire.

Fall- My personal favorite season in the Driftless! Beautiful fall colors to surround you during your stay! As well as Wineries and Orchards cooking up the year's harvest!

Winter - With snow, the views are breathtaking. Cross country ski, snowshoe, sledding - have a blast!
