About this property
Aberdeen Cottage, Ballater Stunning views inc over the River Dee. 1/4 acre gdn.
Of traditional design the charming detached granite built cottage was extended in 2014 with a substantial timber framed, and clad, extension to the rear.
There are 3 reception rooms, including a new and fully equipped kitchen/living room and bathroom/wc with an electric shower over the bath on the ground floor. Upstairs there are 2 comfortable bedrooms ( one double and 1 twin ) and another bathroom/wc with separate shower.
The 2014 extension and the complete renovation carried out to the original cottage in 2011 now afford a lovely holiday home in this most idyllic location overlooking the River Dee.
Aberdeen Cottage enjoys an enviable location, not just for its views in all directions, but also for its accessibility into the Cairngorm mountains and to the coast with its delightful and picturesque harbour villages like Stonehaven.
Loch Ness, of course, is also not far away and a trip there allows you the opportunity of travelling on the fantastic 'road to Tomintoul' which must be one of the most scenic roads in the whole of Scotland ?
The village of Ballater is only a 10 minute walk away, along the old Deeside railway line. Many of the local shops, which are around the village green and the Glenmuick Parish Church, enjoy Royal patronage ( with their Warrants proudly displayed ). There are many excellent restaurants and shopping facilities in the village providing all you could need for a relaxing self catering holiday in the mountains.
Explore the timeless beauty of this refreshingly unique location. Royal Deeside and the Cairngorms appeal to travellers from around the world, all being attracted to the colourful grouse moors, native Scots pine forests, highland views and the misty blue mountains. The landscape is ideal for walking, cycling and many other outdoor activities. Ballater boasts an excellent 18 hole golf course. Salmon fishing is available in the River Dee.
Balmoral Castle is approximately 15 minutes away whilst there are many outdoor pursuits on offer within the Cairngorms National Park.
