Enclosed lawned back garden with patio, garden furniture and BBQ. 1 well behaved dog welcome, to be kept on a lead at all times (sheep country). Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: There is a step in the garden.. Come and discover the wonderful area around Welshouse. This characterful cosy detached barn conversion, in the grounds of the owners’ smallholding, is set within the rolling Ceredigion countryside, in a bright elevated position with distant views of the Preseli mountains. This 19th-century property has been lovingly converted by the current owners to a high standard and offers a perfect holiday for families and couples alike. It is bright and spacious inside. Bird watching, hiking and star-gazing opportunities can be found right outside the doorstep. Welshouse enjoys open plan living on the ground floor, with a kitchen, dining area and living area with a focal wood burner. There are French doors opening onto your private patio and enclosed garden, with views over the lush green meadows and grazing sheep and cows. On an evening enjoy a good movie curled up in front of the cosy fire, play a board game, make up a puzzle (supplied) or dine al fresco on your patio. Upstairs there is a galleried reading snug/landing with a selection of books and two tub chairs and there are two spacious bedrooms. Furnished with an eclectic mix of vintage and modern furniture and warm colours.
The picturesque hamlet of Henllan, with the Teifi Valley Railway, scenic valley views and ancient woodlands walk next to river rapids is close by. The town of Newcastle Emlyn is a 6-minute drive away, offers a plethora of shops, restaurants, antique shops, with the famous salmon River Teifi meandering through the town and around the ruined castle. there is a pretty park alongside the river to walk. Within a 15-30 mins drive are several beautiful beaches and horseshoe coves such as Penbryn, with woodlands, waterfall and stream and Tresaith with waterfall on the beach, the coastal village of Aberporth, quaint Llangranog and picturesque resort of New Quay, famous for its dolphin spotting from its harbour. You can take wildlife spotting boat trips from here. From any of these beaches you can start walking along the magnificant Heritage coastline and find tucked away beaches.
Other attractions are a visit to the picturesque Georgian coastal village of Aberaeron, with attractive harbour and a wide choice of pubs, restaurants and individual shops, the National Wool Museum, Cenarth Falls and National Coracle Centre, with boardwalk-way alongside the rapids. Also Llandysul river rapids with outdoor activities centre. The market town of Cardigan is nearby, with several art galleries, individual shops, and a beautiful castle and an opportunity for boat trips down the estuary. Close to Cardigan is the beautiful village of St Dogmaels with abbey ruins and just around the corner the stunning beach of Poppit Sands. Cardigan Bay enjoys a rich marine environment throughout the year, with bottlenose dolphins, harbour porpoise, Atlantic grey seals, and a variety of birdlife to be spotted.
