About this property
Brunswick Penthouse Flat
With fantastic city views, Brunswick Penthouse is a beautiful flat located in the centre of Bath, just 300 metres from The Circus and 500 metres from The Royal Crescent. The spacious property is non-smoking and has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and an open plan kitchen and lounge. Short-stay pay and display is available on roads surrounding the flat, with long-stay parking about 10 minutes walk away.
With a spectacular panoramic view of the city, this stylish third floor Georgian loft-style apartment for 4 in central Bath will make you feel on top of the world. The mansard roof terrace has been opened up to create a unique apartment, with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Original timbers, stone walls and designer furnishings lend warmth and charm, whilst oak flooring throughout, plate glass and cool granite and stone make a great contemporary statement.
The staircase opens up to a large light-filled lobby and a glimpse of that extraordinary view. In the open-plan living, dining and kitchen area, an entire wall has been replaced with large bi-folding windows and a glass balustrade, giving un-interrupted southerly views of the city and the surrounding hills, with famous landmarks, terraced roof-tops and pretty walled gardens. (When the large window is opened, it is not advisable to have younger children about, who may be tempted to step up onto the window frame to look over the balustrade). The dramatic living area is open to the rafters with the original beams and joists on show. An original decorative attic fireplace is an added reminder of the building's 300 year old history.
The interiors are chic, with a comfortable grey sofa for 2 and a pair of blue armchairs. The TV has Free-View, Netflix and BT Sky. There is Wi-Fi, an entry phone and a telephone for local calls only. The smart walnut and grey kitchen includes the latest in Siemens technology, with a 4 ring induction hob, a multi-purpose micro-wave, grill and oven and another large electric oven. There is a large fridge and separate freezer, a dishwasher, a Nespresso coffee machine and plenty of cooking space and equipment. A large central table, also in walnut and grey granite, doubles as a kitchen counter and dining table, with bar stools for 6.
The principal bedroom is smart and spacious, with a zip and link 6' superking bed that can become two 3' single beds. Above an original fire-place is a TV and in alcoves either side, are a pretty oval dressing table and a large wardrobe with shelf space inside and a drawer under. A small sash window looks onto the neighbouring church (with Sunday service at 10am). A large sky-lit, contemporary en-suite bathroom has a bath, large hand-basin with storage under and a WC with a long tiled shelf for toiletries.
The second pretty bedroom has a 4'6" Double bed, a small chest of drawers and a large cupboard with hanging space and utility items. There is a smartly tiled shower room with large walk-in shower (with overhead rainfall shower head only), a small hand-basin with cupboard under and a WC.
The nearest long-stay car park is Charlotte Street, about 10 minutes walk away. Short-stay pay and display is available on the roads surrounding the flat making it easy to unload and settle in before taking the car to the car park. Lansdown Park and Ride is a cheaper long-stay option and just a short bus ride away, with regular buses going between the car park and town. There is limited free parking on Sion Hill, about 15 minutes walk from the flat.
Please note, the flat is on the third floor, so guests need to be able to climb three flights of stairs. There is also a large bi-fold door in the lounge/kitchen area, which offers fantastic views over the city. The bi-fold has a glass security bannister, however we don't allow young children to stay in the flat for safety reasons.
Surrounding you are the splendours of Georgian Bath, with The Circus and Royal Crescent only a couple of minutes walk away. The Royal Crescent is set in front of the lovely Royal Victoria Park where you can enjoy miniature golf, tennis, botanical gardens, hot air balloon trips and a children's outdoor play area. Museums and galleries abound with The Fashion Museum and The Museum of Bath at Work around the corner. The city centre is less than a 5 minute walk away with a great choice of shopping and entertainment and many more historic sites to explore. There are exceptional restaurants on the doorstep. Dine at The Olive Tree around the corner on Russel Street, The Circus Restaurant on Brock Street, or for a more informal bistro style try The Chequers on Rivers Street. You have a mini supermarket a minute's walk away or Waitrose in the centre a 5-10 minute walk. A couple of streets away is George Street which is lined with restaurants, galleries, night clubs, shops and wine bars. Milsom Street branches off George Street and is Bath's main shopping thoroughfare, leading down towards the Pump Rooms, the Roman Baths, Thermae Spa and Bath Abbey. Whatever you choose to do, shopping, sightseeing or entertainment, most pursuits are a pleasant stroll of about 5-10 minutes away from your apartment.
