About this property
Unplug at this Mt. Baker Cabin in the Hot Tub, enjoy massage chair & rain shower
Mt Baker Getaways offers The Cabin is a place where you will relax and unwind as you are on a private road steps away from Glacier Creek. You can be skiing, hiking or snowboarding at Mt. Baker ski resort within 20 minutes from the cabin.
The cabin has been totally remodeled and updated with our four hands. My wife and I put in a year on the weekends to remodel the entire home. You will enjoy the large rock wall rain head shower.
What we love about the cabin is one of the most secluded cabins in Mt. Baker Rim. The quiet surroundings, no neighbors, all you can hear is Glacier Creek.
The Glacier Creek Cabin features 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, open kitchen, vaulted ceilings. The first floor has living room, kitchen, full bath and bedroom with king bed. Upstairs are 2 bedrooms and a full bath. The first bedroom features queen bed, second room features two bunk beds with twin over full. Upstairs bathroom features large walk-in shower, wine barrel with oil-rubbed bronze sink. The ceilings are knotty pine.
This cabin provides a quiet getaway.

After a long day of snowmobiling in Mount Baker only an hour away and was super clean. Very easy to find. Was trailer friendly. Also, the response time on any questions or concern’s was awesome.
We had a crew of 10 adults in our 30s stay here late February 2025 for a Mt Baker ski trip. The place was clean, well equipped, well finished. Communication with Cecilia was easy and fast. We only ended up skiing 1 of our 2 planned days due to weather and enjoyed just hanging out at the cabin. The hot tub and massage chair are A.
This cabin was great for our guys ski getaway. Lots of space and amenities. We used the hot tub, massage chair and grill. The kitchen is a little small but has everything you need. A nice big open living room was great for hanging out.

Wanted to love it
The cabin was nice, but it's next to an active construction site. When we entered the home there was a bucket and mop sitting in the living room, and much of the silverware, cups and plates in the kitchen were dirty. We immediately had to run a load of the dishwasher and hand wash several items before we could begin cooking. The sink in the main floor bathroom had an excessively slow drain, such that washing your hands once would cause it to pond up for several minutes, and it would pond high enough that someone else couldn't immediately use the sink afterwards. The creek nearby was beautiful, and the cabin has a great location for access to Mount Baker and the surrounding sights and hiking trails. Most of the comparable places I've stayed at in the past have had binders that serve as a welcome kit, and this one had some helpful information on the fridge, but it wasn't the same as a detailed binder. The host was fairly quick at communicating with us, though if you go you'll need to use the landline in the house as opposed to the app because the wifi in the cabin is unreliable and keeps dropping. Might be apples to oranges since it's a different part of the state, but a cabin I stayed at last year located about 45 mins from the Sunrise Visitor Center at Rainier (similar to this Glacier cabin from Artist Point) was the same price at the same time of year but was superior in every respect, from amenities to cleanliness to the surrounding landscaping. At this price point I expect more attention to detail in the cabin experience.

Wanted to Love It But Couldn't
This little cabin has so much to offer. It looks underwhelming from the outside but as the pictures show, it has a lot to offer on the inside. High vaulted ceilings, new fixtures and decor, spacious hot tub, it definitely vibes modern cabin chic.
With that said, there were some problems with the cabin that left us wanting to love it but couldn't.
Pros:
1. modern (seems like recently built or renovated) interior with barn door fixtures, nice pendants, great bathrooms.
2. very spacious interior
3. great hot tub! spacious. It was on and ready to be used!
4. great location to Mt. Baker (25 min drive)
5. plenty of extra bath towels and even beach towels for the hot tub!
6. mudroom for storing ski equipment, including glove warmer machine! I'd never seen this before and we all really appreciated it!
Cons: there were only a few cons but they were problematic enough to impact our stay. good thing, they can all be easily addressed by the owner.
1. the downstairs bathroom (on main floor) did not fully close or lock. It was missing a latch so couldn't stay closed or lock. It rendered the bathroom useless for using the toilet especially as the door would open. We told the owner at check-in and she responded that it could not be fixed during our 3 day stay, that seems unacceptable to me. We had to get creative and bring in a rock to put against the door. Still, with 7 people in the cabin, we had to use it and sometimes made the mistake of walking in on someone going to the bathroom.
2. the large, fabric L-shaped sectional which is the only lounge seating in the cabin stank of wet dog. this was obvious and we avoided sitting on the couch for most of our stay, which was hugely inconvenient and meant that we had to take turns sitting at the 6-chair dining room table. by the final night, we put extra bedsheets on the couch so that we could sit on it. it still smelled. the owner may not know about this if they don't come to the cabin often.
3. we were never able to acquire the gate key cards for the entrance of the gated community. The gate key card is located in a box outside the gated community. we called the owner to let her know that the gate key card box was stuck/would not open and she offered to buzz us into the development. she said that her cleaning people would bring the cards to the house, but they never did. we had to buzz her to let us in every time we entered/exited the gated community. Nice of the owner but an inconvenience that should have been resolved.
As an aside, the recliner/massage chair in the photos is not currently in the house. we asked the owner and she said it stopped working after the last power outage. we were bummed about that, especially with the couch situation.
If you can confirm that these issues have been resolved, it's worth considering booking this cabin.
We have family that owns a cabin in this neighborhood, so we found a rental nearby to be able to celebrate Thanksgiving with them. It was a lot of house for just my husband & I, but it was very comfortable and clean! Check-in instructions were clear and easy to follow.
This place has a spacious bunk room upstairs, so it would be great for a family or a couple of smaller family units. We enjoyed the big living area for watching holiday movies and football!
This cabin may look quaint from the outside, but inside, it is an updated and fully equipped home. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything I needed. There was even laundry detergent and shampoo provided. A very nice, quiet stay. Thank you.
The cabin was clean and very well stocked with all the necessities. Nice gated community close to mt Baker ski area. Great place for a big family or family/ friends gateway.
Super cozy cabin that was easy to get to from Seattle. Made a great base camp for part of the family to go skiing at Baker while the others and a nice relaxing time just hanging out at the cabin.
The property is located in a very quiet community and visitors can hear the sound of glacier creek's running water. I was impressed by the supplies in the kitchen that kids' plates and some baby supplies were available. Cecelia was helpful and responsive in communications.
Note for others: Trash dumpster is in front of the Club House, and there is a playground inside the community close to the Club House as well.
Suggestions for the owner: it may be nice to remove some of the supplies such as the rusted two-man crosscut saw out of the storage space behind door where the internet router is located.
We had a great time getting away for a couple nights. It rained, but that's to be expected in the forest, but it didn't dampen the time at all. It was well stocked and overall a great little place to stay. Would love to visit again.

Perfect location for a ski trip! A lot of minor issues take away from the comfort.
Took a ski trip here with 4 adults and 2 kids. The size was great for our group, and you can't beat the location for a Baker ski trip. It's just about as close as you can get to the ski hill, and even on one of the busiest weekends Mt Baker has ever seen, the travel time to and from skiing was not bad at all.
The owner was incredibly responsive to messages before, during, and after the stay which was a HUGE help and was very welcomed. You can't beat the customer service here!
The massage chair was a huge hit! Kids and adults alike loved it. The same goes for the hot tub. The community has a nice garbage facility which made it really convenient to clean up after our trip instead of having to carry garbage all the way back to Seattle. We loved almost everything about the trip.
Unfortunately, the house had quite a few minor issues which felt like many brutal paper cuts when added up.
1. When we arrived there was a very musty smell. The owner said it was a known issue which could be solved by running water through the washing machine. We were skiing when she told us this, and she made an effort to enter the house and resolve the issue while we were away skiing, which was great.
2. There's an awesome, unique 10-lamp light fixture in the living room. Unfortunately, it draws so much power and is on the same circuit as the washing machine, that you can either do laundry, or have light in the living room without tripping the circuit breaker. Luckily, there's no garage, so the circuit box is conveniently right there in the living room.
3. The internet connection is ancient DSL and is unreliable at best. We could only have one person on the wireless router at a time and couldn't get messages from the owner sometimes for hours after they were sent.
4. We got locked out of the community gate one time because one of the gate keys didn't work. A neighbor had to let us in.
5. The thermostats turn the heaters on and off literally every 10-15 seconds throughout the night which makes it very hard for light sleepers to get rest.
6. The ice maker was intentionally "not hooked up" by the owner and there are only a handful of tiny ice trays.
7. The welcome packet told us to bring a ton of toiletries, dish soap, laundry soap, paper towels, etc. so we made an extra stop and didn't need any of it, because the house was stocked.
We would stay there again, and the owner says they will work on the issues above. *crosses fingers* :)

Great Baker Get Away!
Awesome house to entertain and relax in after a long day of skiing and snowboarding at Mt Baker. Hot tub and massage chair were a hit with our entire group. Home has everything you need to feed and entertain a small group of skiers or riders. Had a great time and we'll be back next year.

Beautiful cabin
It has clearly been recently redone. There was lots of nice woodwork carried throughout the house. The mudroom was cold when we stepped in, but Cecelia had already told us that, and she provided a space heater. There were nice pans that we used to cook on the lovely gas stove. Cecelia has quite a nice place up there!
The hottub was really nice. Its between the house and the road, but the road is a super-quiet dead-end road so it didn't bother us.
Did have a little trouble getting up the hill to get out one morning, but I think it was just because we were trying to leave about 10 minutes before the plow came by.

Nicely remodeled comfortable cabin.
Amenities were good and everything was newer. They've clearly spent time on the inside of the cabin in the last year or so, it's pretty nice. Owner was easy to work with, clear directions and expectations. We were there with 8 guys for a ski weekend and worked great, although sleeping 10 adults would have been tight given the configuration with the double bunks.

Fantastic Stay - Needs 1 or 2 Refinements
This place is perfect for a big group, with almost everything you need for a weekend (or longer) away.
Because everything is almost brand new, we didn't have any major complaints about the space. There were plenty of towels, and accessible laundry which was really convenient. The cabin feels really big, with nice rooms and fresh bedding.
We are big on home cooking and made all our meals at the house. Because that's where we spent most of our time that's where our (albeit minor) frustrations were concentrated.
First off there is no kettle - which is fine. We were just under the impression that we'd have everything we needed to make coffee/and breakfast. Boiling water in a pot doesn't present any major issues but we found it slightly annoying that most of the pots didn't have matching lids.
We were grateful that there was a nice dishwasher, we just couldn't figure out how to get it to finish in less than 90 minutes -- which seems a bit excessive.
I know I'm nitpicking now, but half of the cupboards opened from the left, and half of them opened from the right... it was just kind of...strange.
Outside of the kitchen, the hot tub was in pristine condition when we arrived, and ended up being occupied almost the whole weekend.
Honestly, apart from a few of those comments the cabin really is a good spot and I would stay again and refer my friends and family.
Thanks for hosting us!

Perfect for Large Family w/Hot Tub! Cabana w/Pool
My extended family and I wanted to find a place we could all fit and be comfortable, and this place was perfect! We had 10 people in our party and there was more than enough space for everyone to sleep comfortably. Awesome deck space for our BBQ'in and the Hot Tub was a huge hit for my parents and the kids. We took the kids down to the pool every day, went exploring up/down the river, saw tons of wildlife.....it was the perfect get-a-way!! We will be back again for sure.

It was our family dream to own a home in Mt. Baker. My husband is a 4th generation Whatcom County resident. His great grandfather carved out the road to Mt. Baker and homesteaded in Glacier.
Why they chose this property
This property is in a gated community which gives us the pool and community to bring our two boys to. The home was not finished which allowed us to put our personal touch on finishing it just the way we wanted it. Now we are excited to share it with you.
Seth is a 4th generation Whatcom County resident. We choose Mt. Baker because his great grandfather Herman Steiner is who carved the road to Mt. Baker. His grandfather Jake Steiner is who logged the Snowline and Mt. Baker Rim area. This area means a great deal to our family as we have been coming here our whole life.
What makes this property unique
We love the location of the cabin. We are the only cabin on the main section of Glacier Rim Dr and it is so quiet. Our boys love putting out their orange soccer guy so they can play up and own the road with very few cars throughout the day.
Glacier Creek is a short tail away and our two young boys love fishing "aka for rocks" to through in the creek. Down the road to the west is a trail that connects you to the Mt. Baker Forest Center where you can get all the information about trails, hiking, skiing and snow boarding. You can also get your pass to find your Christmas tree here too.
Our boys love going as they have a sensory bin that has all kinds of find animal facts to learn about.
From here you can continue to walk to town and check out The Wake and Bake Bakery (we love going here). Grahams has great food and a small store for anything you forgot.
The ski store has everything you need for your mountain experience and a few other restaurants.
