Our lives, woven into Aegean islands, draw us back to cherished Cretan summers. In our ancestral home amid rural beauty, We host global travelers, sharing tradition, nature's rhythms, and heartfelt hospitality. It's more than lodging; it's a journey into tradition's heart, where simplicity and tales of old echo.

This historic house has been a cherished part of our family for generations. Passed down from my grandfather to my father, and now to me, it holds the heart of our family’s story. After my father’s passing, I decided to honor his memory by sharing this special place with guests from around the world.

Though I now live on the island of Rhodes, opening this home allows me to share the authentic charm of Crete. Staying here is more than just a visit—it’s an invitation to immerse yourself in the traditions, history, and unique spirit of this mythical island.

Why they chose this property

Located in South Rethymno, the picturesque village of Kerames offers an authentic escape to one of Crete's most breathtaking and untamed regions. Perched on a hillside, Kerames provides stunning panoramic views of the Libyan Sea, blending serene natural beauty with a sense of timeless charm.

The area is a paradise for nature lovers, surrounded by rugged landscapes and pristine beaches, each with its unique character. From the tranquil, sandy shores of Ligres, Triopetra and Agios Pavlos to the dramatic cliffs, palm tree forest and turquoise waters of Preveli Beach, there's a slice of paradise for everyone. Whether you're seeking adventure or relaxation, South Rethymno promises an unforgettable experience amidst its wild, unspoiled beauty.

What makes this property unique

Nestled on the stunning island of Crete, our historic family home carries with it a rich legacy of community and tradition. Once the residence of our great-great-grandfather, Papa Pavlos, this house was more than just a dwelling—it was a cornerstone of the village's life. Papa Pavlos was a man of wisdom and respect, serving as both the village priest and a de facto mayor in his time. As the sole literate person in the area, he offered invaluable guidance to the villagers, resolving disputes and aiding with family matters with fairness and compassion.

This house, alongside the one next to it, served as his main residence, where he lived with his family and welcomed neighbors seeking advice and support. Steeped in history, the home stands as a testament to his enduring legacy and the trust he inspired in the community. It’s more than a building—it’s a piece of living history, a reminder of a time when wisdom and kindness were the true pillars of leadership.
