Picturesque and peaceful, it is a perfect introduction to Herriot Country. The town's centre boasts a large market square surrounded by splendid Georgian buildings. There are pretty village greens with flowers and seats, and a good selection of shops, pubs and cafes. There is also an excellent community centre with a newly built fitness suite. Close by are many picturesque, well-kept villages and quiet lanes making it ideal for cycling.
