Whether you're visiting for the beach, wildlife, or historic sites, Wells-next-the-Sea provides a peaceful base for discovering the best of North Norfolk.

For hikers, the Norfolk Coast Path is a fantastic way to explore the region. The path stretches for miles along the coastline, passing through Wells-next-the-Sea and offering stunning views of the sea, salt marshes, and wildlife.
You can take day hikes or shorter walks along different sections of the path, with plenty of places to stop for a rest or refreshment along the way.

The Wells Harbour Railway is a narrow-gauge train that runs between the town center and Wells Beach. It’s a fun and convenient way to travel the mile-long distance between Wells town and the beach, especially for families with young children. The railway operates seasonally, generally from Easter to the end of October.

Just a couple of miles west of Wells-next-the-Sea, Holkham Hall is a must-visit for its grand Palladian architecture, extensive parklands, and beautifully kept gardens. You can walk or cycle through the park or visit the Holkham National Nature Reserve and its stunning beach.
Known as one of the most beautiful beaches in the UK, Holkham’s wide, sandy expanse is perfect for a day out in nature. It’s a favorite spot for beachgoers, walkers, and wildlife enthusiasts.
