This contemporary holiday home is in Cockermouth, on the outskirts of the Lake District National Park. The stylish, pet-friendly cottage sleeps six guests and is perfect for families and groups of friends looking to explore the Lake District’s quieter, north-western corner. Head towards the vibrant high street (0.5 miles) to potter amongst the independent shops, boutiques, and galleries, before refuelling in one of the many eateries dotted throughout the town. Cockermouth is the birthplace of the poet William Wordsworth, and you can learn all about his life at the National Trust’s Wordsworth House (0.5 miles). You’ll be within easy reach of the popular western lakes of Bassenthwaite (10 miles) and Derwentwater (16 miles), and for a day at the coast, journey to the long, sandy beach at Allonby (9 miles) or spend an afternoon exploring the harbour town of Maryport (7 miles). Nearby family attractions include Go Ape (7.5 miles) and Lake District Wildlife Park (8 miles).
The characterful terraced cottage takes inspiration from William Wordsworth’s most well-known poem, and features statement wallpapers, vibrant soft furnishings, and a fabulous collection of eye-catching artwork, all of which come together to create a truly unique backdrop to your holiday. The stylish lounge has a colourful, L-shaped sofa to sink into after a day of exploring, along with a Smart TV with complimentary Netflix for enjoying movie nights together. When it comes to dinner time, you’ll find everything needed to rustle up a delicious feast for the group in the bright and airy kitchen/diner, as well as a wooden dining table to seat everyone. Completing the ground floor is a handy utility area and a separate WC. Heading upstairs, discover three gorgeous bedrooms, all with their own, unique style and orthopaedic mattresses. Choose from two double bedrooms or a twin. Rounding off the first floor is a refreshing family bathroom.
Outside, enjoy an al fresco supper or a glass of wine in the small garden to the rear of the cottage, which is equipped with outdoor furniture. The property has on street parking, if bringing an additional car, we ask that you park further down the road so not to disturb the neighbours.
