About this property

The Old Mission Hall

Prepare to be impressed by this fabulous apartment set on a village green in the heart of the market town of Richmond. It’s an ideal getaway for friends or families looking to explore this lovely area, where there’s so much on offer. You can see the town’s Norman castle from the property itself, and a wonderful variety of boutiques, cafes, pubs and restaurants are less than 0.5 miles away. For those who love the great outdoors, take a gentle walk along the River Swale, or access the Yorkshire Dales on your doorstep. In Hudswell, 2 miles, you’ll find an award-winning pub, or you could have a family day out with a difference at The Forbidden Corner, a unique labyrinth of tunnels, chambers, follies and surprises just 12 miles away. Walkers may also want to venture to the North York Moors National Park, 18 miles, for even more adventures.
This charming and characterful holiday destination is spread across the first and second floors of a Grade II-listed building, once an old Sunday school. Combining period features with contemporary conveniences, it’s filled with intriguing artworks and furnishings. Take three steps up to the main entrance and then the elegant panelled staircase to the first floor. Once inside, you’ll find the striking open-plan living space, where everyone can gather together to cook, eat, play games and relax. Despite its double-height ceiling, this room feels really cosy, and has a coal-effect electric fire to gather round, as well as a Smart TV ready for you to line up your favourite shows. The kitchen at the far end includes everything the cook will need to conjure up tasty meals, including an induction hob and a dishwasher to help with the cleaning up. Also on this floor are two bedrooms – a king-size with a delightful bed and ample storage, and a bunk bed that can sleep adults or children. They share a shower room which boasts an eye-catching stone basin mounted on a rustic wooden vanity. Take the stairs to the top floor and you’ll find a mezzanine-style king-size bedroom (overlooking the living space) tucked under sloping ceilings. This room has a sofa, a Smart TV and an en-suite bathroom with a fabulous roll-top bath.
Although there is no outside space for this property, when you step out of your front door you’ll find yourself on the village green, perfect for some fresh Yorkshire air. Parking is on-street nearby.
