Large Lake District House in Hawkshead. Ensuite Rooms, Pets, Parking & Garden
The Old School House is a listed property situated in the heart of Hawkshead village, central for exploring all that the Lake District has to offer. Formerly home to William Wordsworth.
There is plenty to see and do both in Hawkshead itself and the surrounding areas. Within a short stroll from the house there are several pubs, cafes, shops & galleries.
If walking, hiking & biking are your thing then this is definitely the place for you. Grizedale Forest is a short walk away and electric bike hire is available in Hawkshead. Hundreds of walks from the door including Tarn Hows, Latterbarrow, Wray Castle, Lake Windermere, Coniston & Ambleside.
Beatrix Potters former home, Hilltop, is two miles away in the neighbouring village of Near Sawrey.
The house itself is perfect for large gatherings of family and friends with an abundance of space to entertain, dine and relax in beautiful peaceful surroundings with open fires and a log burner.
The porchway leads into a large entrance hall. To the left there is an attractive lounge with cosy woodburning stove, leather sofas, Smart TV, freeview & DVD. To the right is a grand dining room with a large oak table comfortably seating 10/12 people. In addition there is a seating area with armchairs looking out of the floor to ceiling windows across the village towards Latterbarrow.
A full size Pool table is a big hit with children and adults alike.
To the rear of the house is a second lounge/snug with slate floors, open fire & smart tv. This room leads on to the well appointed kitchen with a large double oven, dishwasher, large fridge/freezer and washing machine.
Upstairs there are 5/6 stylish & relaxing bedrooms, all of which are En-suite and have Smart TV's.

Bedroom 3: Family Suite with Ensuite. King size bed in main bedroom and a double sofa bed in separate area with interconnecting door, suitable for two children or alternatively as a lounge area if sofa bed not required.
Bedroom 4: Superking Bed with Ensuite (can also be made as a twin with two single beds)
Bedroom 5: Superking Bed with Ensuite
There is a separate house WC.
Outside there is an extensive gravel driveway with parking for several cars, a very large enclosed garden perfect for games & pets and several seating & table areas including a BBQ.
