About this property
Sheep Haven - Two Bedroom House, Sleeps 4
Enjoy a peaceful getaway at this gorgeous stone-built cottage sitting just outside the pretty market town of Barnard Castle. Sleeping four people in two bedrooms, this is a perfect accommodation choice for small families or groups of friends searching for a traditional cottage to call home while they explore the glorious North Pennines together. Spend a happy afternoon strolling through Eggleston Hall Gardens (2 miles), which is known for its stunning variety of rare plants. A short drive takes you into Barnard Castle (7 miles), while just 8 miles away you’ll find the impressive Bowes Museum, which showcases a whole host of world-class artworks.
Before stepping inside this inviting, single-storey cottage, take a moment to absorb your verdant surroundings of rolling hills, distant woodlands and the peaceful sounds of nature. Head inside and find that the rural charm continues in the form of a welcoming open-plan living space that blends vaulted ceilings with exposed timber beams and flagstone flooring. This social heart of the home combines the lounge, kitchen and diner, offering the perfect spot to unwind after days of outdoor adventure. Rest weary walking muscles by sinking into the sumptuous sofa that sits opposite a Smart TV and roaring wood burner. When stomachs begin to stir, find that the well-appointed kitchen space boasts everything needed to cook up feasts for your loved ones, who can gather at the dining table nearby to enjoy the chef’s work – or outside in the garden when the weather permits. At the end of each busy day away, two delightful bedrooms offer restful nights of sleep. Served by a well-equipped family bathroom, the bedrooms include a master double bedroom and a cosy twin.
Outside, unwind in the enclosed garden as little ones and dogs play freely on the lawn. Use the outdoor furniture to enjoy peaceful morning brews or balmy al fresco meals. For dog-friendly fun, guests can make full use of the shared dog agility area (extra charges apply) as well as a 6 acre field to explore. Private parking for two cars is also available.
