About this property
La Casa di Madina - Flo Apartments
In the heart of Chianti, not far from the medieval town of Montespertoli ,the homely and warm hospitality of “La casa di Madina” welcomes you in the idyllic setting of Tuscan countryside, in an intimate environment, rich in history and full of authenticity.
La Casa di Madina, with its 3 panoramic bedrooms and a large garden surrounding it, can comfortably accommodate 5 people and is perfect for those who wish to immerse themselves in the peace and bucolic atmosphere that the countryside and beautiful Tuscan hills offer, for family vacations with children who can safely enjoy themselves outdoors, or among friends, or for a romantic getaway for couples.
Our countryhouse, with a private garden bordering it on three sides, is on two levels and located in an authentic rural hamlet, composed of old farmhouses and nestled among the romantic Chianti vineyards, halfway between Florence and Siena.
This typical Tuscan house sits in a dominant position on the top of a hill, and enjoys breathtaking views of the bucolic landscape that surrounds it: the hills, the little church, the romantic medieval village, the cypress trees, the rows of vines as far as the eye can see, and the well-kept olive groves.
Given its privileged location, La Casa di Madina is a quiet, cozy and relaxing corner where peace and silence dominate, and is the perfect base for exploring the beauty of the world-famous Tuscan art cities such as Siena, Florence and San Gimignano, the countless villages that dot the Chianti region and the farms in the area, and then returning to relax away from the city chaos and indulge in a nice glass of wine or a nice dinner comfortably seated in the cool of the garden, equipped with a wooden table, chairs and umbrellas, barbecue, deckchairs and chaises longues.
The property is accessed by a large wrought-iron gate beyond which you find yourself in the well-kept garden. Here you can conveniently park your car safely.
All 4 French windows overlooking the garden, in addition to giving brightness and airiness to the interior rooms, are equipped with mosquito nets.
The house, free on 3 sides, is accessed through a large French window that leads into the kitchen, equipped with everything you may need to prepare breakfast lunch and dinner whenever you want: oven, microwave, dishwasher, kettle, toaster etc.
It also has a large wooden table with chairs.
From here you enter the large dining room, with its ancient terracotta floor and exposed beams, tastefully furnished in rustic style.
Climbing 3 terracotta steps leads to the living room, equipped with comfortable sofas, TV armchairs and a decorative fireplace.
A service bathroom completes the ground floor.
The living room leads to the stairs to the bright upper floor.
Here is another sitting room with armchairs and TV, desk for those who need to work while on vacation, and 2 large windows overlooking the Tuscan hills.
There are 3 bedrooms: two doubles furnished in the rustic style typical of Tuscan country houses, and a single. All rooms are panoramic and equipped with fans for hot summer days.
A large bathroom with shower completes the upper floor of the house.
WiFi, aircon, washing machine and parking are available to our guests.
SURROUNDINGS
The farmhouse is set in an extraordinary natural oasis.
The surrounding countryside offers postcard landscapes: a succession of rolling hills covered with vineyards and olive trees, with dirt roads outlined by rows of cypress trees, just 30 minutes drive from Florence, in the middle of the countryside but at the same time close to cities of historical and cultural interest such as precisely Florence, Siena, San Gimignano.
We are less than 15 minutes from the central square of Montespertoli, where you can find supermarket, stores, bars, restaurants, laundry, pharmacies and the bus stop for Florence, if you don't want to use the car.
Nestled on a gentle hill in Chianti, Montespertoli is located just 20 km from Florence and 30 km from San Gimignano. On one side we have the valley leading to the river Pesa (Val di Pesa), on the other the valley of the river Elsa
Montespertoli is a beautiful medieval village positioned along the Via Volterrana that connects to the Via Francigena. It is worth visiting for its architectural beauty and for its food and wine products: DOCG wine, olive oil and truffles, so much so that together with nearby Montaione it is called the "City of Truffles."
Montespertoli is renowned for its production of Chianti DOCG wine, of which it holds a good share of global production through the many wineries present and the Chianti Montespertoli sub-zone. Every year, at the end of May, the town hosts the "Mostra del Chianti," an entire week dedicated to wine.
Glass and terracotta production are also renowned in this area.
A number of noble Florentine families, in particular, chose this area to build their elegant castles and villas: the Guicciardini, Frescobaldi, Acciaioli, Ruccelai, Strozzi, and Barbadori are just a few of the nobles who have lived in Montespertoli. The castle of Montegufoni (owned by the Acciaioli family) can be seen along the Volterrana road going toward Montespertoli coming from Florence, while the Castle of Sonnino, which belonged to the Machiavelli family for centuries, is located at the beginning of Montespertoli.
Montespertoli is an excellent starting point for excursions in all directions.
Travelling by bike or on foot in Chianti is an extraordinary experience that will leave you with the pleasant sensation of having travelled back in time, with pleasant and characteristic encounters and glimpses of unspoilt landscapes: vineyards, ancient castles, abbeys, monasteries and, above all, the dense network of white roads that criss-cross the hills and small villages of incredible charm.
If you decide to visit this area from mid-October to December, you can make a stop at one of the many oil mills in the area, where the locals take their olives to be pressed, and buy "novo" oil and wine at one of the many farms in the area.
Other places to visit in the area are: Certaldo, Tavarnelle Val di Pesa ,San Casciano Val di Pesa, Barberino Val d'Elsa and Greve in Chiant
