Welcome to the Country Cottage at Spring Hill Farm in picturesque Esmont, Virginia. And, just 30 minutes north is Charlottesville, voted Top 10 Best Cities to Live. This is the home of Thomas Jefferson and his beloved University of Virginia.
This quaint guest house uniquely reflects the natural charm of Virginia and all its beauty. The cottage is your 'home away from home' whether you are getting away for a relaxing weekend of golf or touring the many award winning wineries. Albemarle County is home to 24 Wineries, 7 Breweries and numerous Distilleries and Cideries. All the amenities on 175+ acres with spectacular views of the sunset in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Besides relaxing and enjoying the views, the town of Scottsville, the original county seat of Albemarle is just minutes away. Here you can visit the Scottsville Museum or walk the historic Canal Basin Square, for the water sport enthusiast, tubing, canoeing and fishing on the James River is a visitor's favorite.

A gem

This is a gorgeous house and property. Meticulously maintained, well stocked, spacious and comfortable, lovely location, beautiful all around. The house is on the top of the hill with amazing views and lots of windows to enjoy it. We didn’t cook, but the kitchen seems fully stocked for easy cooking. It was an easy and beautiful drive to nearby cideries and Cville. A real gem, hope to stay there again.

Perfect

This home is spotless and is incredibly comfortable/stocked with everything we needed (and more). After a long, intensely emotional day at UVA’s graduation, we especially appreciated the ability to return to the serenity of the screened-in porch, where the faint scent of peonies, the bird songs, and the clouds rolling over the distant mountain vista allowed us to process all that the day meant for our Hoo and our family.We hope to relocate to the area and will happily use this lovely home as a base as we search for property. Thank you very much for your hospitality!

Lovely Cottage

This cottage is even nicer in person than in the pictures. The land around it is stunning. The views alone make it a worthwhile choice. We spent the majority of the time there on the screened porch looking at the mountains. Esmont is pretty isolated—it is about a 25 minute drive to Charlottesville and 10 minutes to Scottsville.. Highly recommend!

Beautiful home & even more beautiful property.

Just wanted a weekend to get away from the city & couldn’t have asked for better. Off the beaten path & super homey & absolutely gorgeous home. The view of the sunrise from the screened in porch can’t be beaten.

Amazing Property & Cabin!

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin. It sits on a large piece of land with plenty of room to run around- we really enjoyed playing football as the sun went down each night- the view of the sunset over the mountains is gorgeous. And the cabin itself was perfect. There was plenty of room for everyone, and it had everything we needed to cook all of our meals and hang around playing games inside. It's a really wonderful place that I hope to return to!

Beautiful property lovely cabin

Four sisters getting away to experience the nearby Walton’s Mountain properties. The cabin was so comfortable everything you need right there. Amazing view and screened in porch for comfort.

This cabin is located in a private lot (a huge one) and the view is amazing from the top of the hill. Will definitely stop by again.

UVA Graduation

Beautiful house, gorgeous setting. Used for graduation weekend. About a 30 min. drive from Grounds. Quiet, clean, and had everything we needed. Even watched the International Space Shuttle pass overhead one evening with a clear sky and the trees full of fireflies!

Great place to relax!

This cottage is awesome! I travel a lot for work so I was looking for a place to end the year with my wife and daughters spending family time with no distractions. We had hoped to go skiing at nearby Wintergreen but it was too warm for the resort to make snow. So we built a fire each day and played board games, went on a couple of long walks, and had some great food. We would have loved to have a fire pit to sit outside and enjoy and also a Hot Tub on the deck would have been fun. Our only complaints were that WiFi wasn't working and the gas grill needs cleaning and did not get hot enough to use. Other than that, we look forward to returning to this place soon. The Beamers

Almost heaven

A beautifully appointed, spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean home with some of the best views in Virginia. 5 stars, except as a walker and mountain biker I would love there to be a trail on the property down to the creek and through the woods. Lovely cottage, lovely stay

We spent the first weekend in October at the Virginia Country Cottage. Cheryl was very responsive and helpful with the reservation and during our stay. The Cottage is really a lovely little house which is very well laid out and extremely comfortable. It nicely houses two couples with 2 separate bedrooms and bathrooms. We enjoyed dinner on the screened in porch both evenings, overlooking a beautiful view of the mountains! I hope to find a reason to return and enjoy the Cottage again!

UVA Graduation

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Cottage. Everything was very clean and as advertised. Very peaceful place with wonderful scenery. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a quiet retreat and would come back.
